I am not special, in spite of what I try to tell myself every now and then. I know what it is to have no money in the bank, huge debt, always pressure from family, and living paycheck to paycheck for more years I care to admit... To this day, I still go to the Dollar Store at least 1-2 times a month to buy stuff and - my son and I always speculate on how much we have saved when we go to the grocery store and buy BOGO stuff every week. I know the value of a dollar and have worked my ass off to come back from losing absolutely everything (have had to sell clothes, jewelry, signed stuff, etc. to pay rent/survive), plus then a bad divorce, to then bounce back and lose everything again even worse for a long, long time. For the last few years, things looked up although business has not been doing great lately - but, I have always maintained my faith. Several years ago, I took it upon myself to get stuff "back" that was either taken away from me, or that I had to get rid of against my desire, since most of us don't like having to sell cool s*it we worked our a*s off to get.
I picked up this e28 with all the unbelievable goodies anyone could ever hope, including an m30b35 swap - the other day - as part of my psyche wanting to get my old stuff back. I owned a Manofied e28 Alpina clone 10 years ago that I spent too much on trying to customize further/run right - but ran out of money and could never manage to make it run right. The present owner of that same car has had it parked for years, as the car's "Manofication" cursed it somehow (after the subsequent owner after me also spent too much to make it run/behave like a normal car).
Full circle now and love this shark nose beast! Already got M5 flares, mud flaps and a few other things on order to make it more special to me. The rest of the cars are part of the fleet with the 914 GT (with Subie engine), MB Wagon, 400i, and the Renault 5 Turbo in respective shops not available. This time around, I am enjoying spending my money before I lose it again - dam* it!
