Thanks. I'll be doing that the next time I have to take the VC off. Not sure when that'll be though. Turbo car doesn't get driven much anymore (haven't gassed it up since November 2015) after the arrival of our first born 2.5 years ago. And now we have our second due in January I doubt that it's usage will change much. I keep flip flopping about selling it because it doesn't make sense to keep a car insured, registered, etc to use once every 3 months or so...

I remember you mentioning you may sell. Maybe you need something to motivate you. Throughout my build I've experience times of low interest where the car sits and I pay registration/ insurance and its just sitting there. Its difficult with a full time job too. You slowly have less and less free time. I can only imagine what its like with a new family.

I would go oem mounts. I had polys and personally felt it was terrible. With a straight 6 it is fine but on a m42 it vibrates everything

I'm using e28 M5 greens on my turbo M42. Feels just like stock but without the crappy hydraulic pucks.

I use OEM mounts. I probably need new ones but I don't like the extra vibration of poly mounts. Theres enough clutch chatter with the setup I have as it is.

95 E36 M3 engine mounts work very well on M42 engines! very firm but without the vibration of poly. shop around, they are not that expensive either.

Thanks for the comments guys. Today I decided to install a Blitz turbo timer I got from a buddy of mine years and years ago. Way back in my 240sx days haha

I couldn't decide on a location for it and I had two knee bolster covers so I figured why not hack one up and see how it looks...

                          Its ok I guess.

                              ^ Agreed DO ET.

Car is looking good man. You're doing an awesome job on the oem+ look for sure. Good job getting the fuel rail and fpr all mounted up and working too. Why put a turbo timer on though if you have a water cooled turbo? I doubt you'll be cooking any oil if you just shut it off.
