I wouldn't buy the older model. This one has a lot of bad ass settings. You can go online and change some of the time correction settings, burn them to a cd, and have the settings changed on your cd player.

This one doesn't have any flashy silver. It fits in rather well with the dash. The amber looks amazing at night! I'll take a picture of how it looks tonight (out of space on my camera last night from concert pictures). All the buttons light up amber and the screen looks amazing in black and white. So much better on your eyes.

MP3/WMA/ compadible. You can also buy the iPod interface and have your iPod in the glove box and control it through your deck.

TJ, are you saying the deck I have ins't good?

I didn't say it isn't good. It just isn't a top of the line deck, like Beemer is making it seem.

I wouldn't go that far. For a low-to-mid range deck, on a Best Buy/Circuit city consumer level, its probably the best you can get... but its really not that great.
I'm sorry, but unless you're into some form of a competition for SQ or something, this deck is more than enough for anyone. It's got plenty of adjustments and settings to cater to any music style and car size, and you just can't make it sound bad. For the money, you can't beat it. The quality and features compared to any deck close to its price is much higher.

You don't understand. I know its great for $200. But on the grand scale of car audio, its not going to hold up that well.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think you're giving it enough credit. This was an almost $500 deck new - and it was worth it. I just think the entire package is perfect for our cars, and not too overboard with adjustments and functions that most people won't even use, yet has some advanced forms of tuning and adjustments that other decks don't.

I'd give it a "better than average" rating, at least...

Which deck are we talking about? The CDA-9855 is by far one of the best decks you can buy in the market now. As far as the CDA-7894 goes, I wouldn't know and I would assume there are plenty of better ones out there.

TJ and I are arguing over the 7894.

Took that at 5:40am on my way home from a game of poker that never seemed to end.

Matches rather well with the dash at night.
