Im guessing by rims you mean the bottlecaps or weaves? If thats the case, Im not surprised as an 86 zinno eta is probably the most produced E30, hence the title name. ;)

Couple annoying things, the power steering is still whining and another belt has starting to whine so I should be tightening the belt today. The power steering may be more work, the line going to the pump seems pretty beat, might need to replace that to fix the leak

So yesterday I changed the main coolant hoses (still have to do the two to the heater core). They were swollen and it was waaaaay overdue. Today the plan is to do the overdue valve adjustment. Ive been searching and reading as many DIYs to wrap my mind about the ins & outs. Doesnt seem too bad.

Ill update the thread later with how the car feels now.

Lookin' good. You should take a look at replacing those shotty front and rear lock strips. It makes a big difference.

They carry a kit at bav auto for the front and rear. Here's the part number,

51 31 1 968445K the kit is 95.00 bones, they are the better looking black strips.

You can also pick up a chrome lockstrip kit for the front and rear, 51 31 1 844402K it's like 92.00 dollars.

looks like my antics from last weekend are catching up to me. about to order some more parts from blunt
                  -guibo
                  -CSB
-trans seals (its been leaking since I bought the car)
                  -tranny mounts
                  -shift bushings

and today im off to a fellow BMW owners house who is letting me use his lift so I can try and get the rear subframe bushings and hopefully the trailing arm bushings done. gotta get this out of the way so i can install the other parts hopefully next weekend.

prepping the car for the Maryhill Loops Rd event that is being put on by the local BMW CCA. also getting new tires once all the bushings are done. probably going with a 205/45/16 all the way around. right now Ive got 205/50 in front and 225/45 in back

couldnt get the bushings done at Mr Bridgwaters house, but I did get to ride in his Factory Five Cobra. fucking awesome. his driveup lift wasnt ideal for doing the subframe bushings, trailing arm bushings, etc.

Today I had to pay KD motorsports to do the job. Well worth the money, as I needed the job done in one day and Kevin let me help out and I learned a lot. Next up is the guibo, CSB, trans mounts, trans seals and shifter bushings. Probably going to hold off on the CSB unless I know for sure its bad. Right now, it feels like the guibo is the only piece left in the puzzle. The other stuff Im doing needs to be done also, but Im not expecting drastic differences. So excited, car drives better each time I do more work on it

                      Update time!
some old pics. one is the busted v-belt, the other is a nice shot i took near my work

so, I changed everything listed in the previous post, but the e21 trans mounts werent as simple to put in as i thought so those and the shifter bushings are on the waiting list.

CSB ended up being the culprit of the vibration, giubo actually looked pretty good.

anyways, bought another exhaust but its a factory "I" exhaust with a cat and a flowmaster resonator.

                      why? 3 reasons
#1: if i end up moving back to CA next year, it will be ready to battle the smog nazis
#2: the exhaust i have now isnt mandrel bent and is now rattling around in the tunnel so its got to go
#3: with the dual runner exhaust I can finally install my long tube headers Ive had for a LONG time now. tried to sell them recently and not one person showed any interest so now the plan is simple.

this weekend will be fun, but ill let the pics do the talking after i get back

thanks! its been a lot of fun and super reliable, but its actually for sale now. I found a car better suited to my style and Ive purchased it. Its an 84 with a 2.7i swapped in. no power options or creature comforts so it weighs a lot less and has a lot more power. its pretty much what i was going to build this car into, minus the "fully loaded" side of things.

well, I was a bittersweet moment today, but I sold the car. It should resurface here as the kid I sold it to said he was signing up on R3V. I like to see progress on my old cars and I know its in good hands. Here was the last pic I got of the car
