    My turbo/mods/specs - Clean Thread

I decided to post up a new thread to answer questions about the mods and such since the last one became pretty detracted from the car.

    T3/T4 Turbo - .60 AR State 3 Hot, .70 AR 57trim Cold at 16psi
4" down pipe and exhaust with race muffler
    38mm turbonetics wastegate
custom fabricated short runner intake manifold
turbo cam grind - 288deg with 10.8mm lift
    3angle valve grind
75mm BBK TBody (for a mustang)
Megasquirt EMS with full ignition control. Stand alone.
    50lb injectors
All urethane bushings with rear camber adjusters
Hyfire VIIC Ignition (using msd temporarily)
    ProMaster coil
    alcohol injection system
    Corvette Z06 brakes (13.2' front, 12' rear)
3.25LSD with custom fabricated solid diff mount.
Custom radiator - 2.5" thick core, 3" end tanks
    custom fabricated valve cover
    19" wheels
    full body kit
ground control suspension with adjustable konis
    IE front strut bar
    3" intercooler piping
    underdrive crank pulley
    carbon fiber 3.5" intake

I'm building a new 2.7L bottom end right now. I have a new turbo and manifold ready for that. Ok.. here are the pictures...

This is my underdrive pulley and harmonic damper. The damper has been modified to accept the pulley and the teeth have been removed but three for the stand alone ignition system.

4" exhaust from the turbo back.

I snapped the MRoadster diff mount so I fabricated this one,,

quite a few hours into the valve cover. shaved the outlet, lettering, and all brackets. mounted a breather and had it powder coated.

the intercooler is just a noname brand unit. you can find them on ebay at a reasonable price, and they actually work very well. i know about 7 people using it. note the carbon fiber intake pipe - it's a 3.5" pipe from an e46 m3 intake kit.

short runner intake manifold is custom fabbed.

we made some design changes to make the flow more even after taking this picture.

corvette z06 brakes front and rear

alcohol injection system. basically while under boost injects alcohol into the charge pipe, which increases the octane level of the fuel

the body kit was designed from scratch. this is a production kit made from abs plastic and will be on the market shortly.

Here are some new toys going in:

    3puk clutch

velocity stacks for the intake manifold

Thanks. The new bottom end is a 2.7L ETA bottom end. It is not the super ETA model.

I am using an "i" head, and decking the block by about .75mm to regain optimum quench area. Something that is lost with this combination.

It should be about 8.1:1 or so. These motors can take a lot of boost on stock components.

I take it you are having it fully rebuilt prior to this? Thanks for the replies Dan, i have a 85 eta, and rebuilt "I"head sitting next to me.... Im still undescided what route i want to go, but i am more than interested in hearing your results... ~ Troy

Jesus Christ! How do you learn to do all this? Are you an engineer or something? That is a badass car.

Incredible. Your car looks awesome Dan, and I can't say enough about the amount of work that's gone into your car. It really is a great car.

I'm going to refrain from posting comments on them bumpers, because overall your car is badass and those are the only things I don't like about it. I like the tails a lot, and the work you've done to the engine.

How loud is the car with that exhaust setup? There is no muffler or resonator at all?

It's loud, but not as loud as a NA car would be with a similar setup. The turbo acts like a muffler. Actually that small bump where the cat should be is a muffer - 4" straight through... it doesn't do much.

I just bought this for the back:

The last thing I want to do is restrict my exhaust. I think this muffler will be okay... it is 4" in and out and by the time the exhaust gets that far it has cooled quite a bit anyway.

I really wouldn't worry about restriction with 4" piping :)
