WTF? it's like a snowball, one thing after the next. One car after the next...lol. It's a shame the paint on a 22k mile car wasn't cared for properly but I can appreciate the crazy amount of work being put into the car. Everything looks top notch. Make sure they pay special attention to the rust prone areas like under the battery tray, window frames, cowl, sunroof, etc etc. I'd love to do this to mine someday. Of course the problem is if you make too nice, you won't want to drive it anywhere!

Someone shot my friend's pristine (60-70K miles, immaculate interior) E30 M3 with a BB gun a few times while parked outside of a restaurant. He is so anal, he never recovered from it and sold the car. That car spent 3 years on a rack before it happened too.

A few high resolution pictures. Sorry for the "noise" in the pictures, it was quite dark in the shop already. I also haven't had the chance to fix the M3 grille emblem and wiper position yet. :o

Next up is engine and suspension! :)

It's been a while since I've updated the thread. Haven't had the time to work on the M3 but since then, we got some suspension work out of the way. The car generally was in great shape underneath, all of the bushings were still in good shape and only the hub bearings needed to be replaced. Did a fluid change and bleed of the brakes as well since we were already down there.

While under the car, we found some more rust that the paint shop missed, though in fairness I didn't ask for the under chassis to be completely redone. Was originally looking to save up for that but it looks like I'm gonna have to send it to the shop earlier for some more work.

Also noticed rust on the Supersprint DTM exhaust.

That'll have to go. It's too far gone to repair (too bad though since it's a Supersprint) but it looks like the previous owner really didn't use the car much. My guess would be water pooled on the bottom of the exhaust and since the car was hardly used the water just stayed there. A good/bad sign I suppose. Depends on how you look at it.

Any suggestions on a good new replacement exhaust? Go for an original one or aftermarket?
