I noticed that, but I didn't really trust my self to do anything like bondo the holes and make the finish come out nice.

Still have to lower the car down but wheels are on. 205/45/16 BFG's.

How do you drive that low? I'd rip my iS lip off on the first drive lol. I do need more lowz though.

Umm idk. It's been a day of driving and I've hit my skid plate 4 times. The roads are like the surface of the damn moon where I'm at.

                            The Popped Cherry - Calypso E30 - Updated 6/24/2015

I apologize for the upcoming potato quality pictures, and overall lack of them.
I've been in the dark for a while now, but the water pump blew last week and I thought I'd take it as an excuse to get at a couple of projects. Firstly I didn't wait around, I got right to it and removed the hood this time and got the car under the knife.

Before I diagnosed my water pump had blown, my indication that something was wrong was coolant was leaking behind the car as I was driving. When I got the car quickly back to the house I popped the hood and quickly found coolant slinging into my face from the fan and belts. I shut the motor off and took a peak and could see my radiator was scarred from the fan as shown below here. After taking a peak I found coolant leaking front and center of the motor and now knowing I was in for a mediocre job with very little tools.

Although I didn't have parts I wasn't going to waste time, I immediately put her under the knife. When I did the timing belt and water pump a little over a year ago I did not removed the hood and kind of wished I did, so this time I went for it and in the end am glad I did. Look at all that room to work!!!

I don't think I will ever learn with these stupid radiator drain plugs this is the second one I have broken.:hitler:

Borrowed an awesome tool from a local friend and shop owner that worked like a dream, a fan clutch has never been easier.

                            Almost to the little bugger

When I got the pump out I played around with its shaft and reassured myself that it was the problem, it had a ton of play in it.

So since the car was down, parts weren't here yet, I did have a project that's been itching at me for a while. The bitch tube going from the bottom of the intake to the bottom of the block was leaking oil at the lower end for the last couple of months. I thought never a better time to get this done than now so I pulled the whole intake manifold off.

I was kind of scared doing this for the first time because R3v makes it sound like a dark scary project to do, but it was quite simple actually. I unbolted the fuel rail from the intake thinking that would be the best way to take the intake off, but really it's best to just disconnect the fuel lines at the rail and pull the injectors and rail with it. I didn't do this until after I thought about installation.

Now on to painting the manifold, I used VHT Engine Ename primer and wrinkle finish from from VatoZone. This also has been a long time waiting project for me, I hated the eye soar of dried cosmoline.

Also decided to spice up the thermostat housing with the same treatment.

A close up of the wrinkle finish, this stuff actually comes out pretty cool for a rattle can.

Obligatory, "oh shit I hope I can put this back together" shot. Also I didn't get any pictures but I did do a camshaft seal and O-ring as that was leaking oil profusely.

Pelican Parts doesn't fuck around when you half seriously ask for some stickers in the order comments...

Ahh feeling better about the engine bay. Anyone have ideas about what color to do my valve cover?? I'm debating on gold but I feel iffy about it.

I'll get some more obligatory driving without the hood shots and running videos. I did get the car back together and running nicely. Also my flickr account lost almost all of my photos so I apologize if you go back in the thread and can't see what I've done, it's pretty frustrating but I'm not sure I'll fix it.

                            Future tasks are:
                            -Install UUC Short Shift Kit
-Fix front and rear seals on transmission
                            - Buy and replace clutch kit
-Install Guibo & Center support bearing
                            -Paint Valve cover
-Get ride height and alignment where I want it
-Drive the hell out of her

Again follow me on instagram I update there quite a bit instead of rarely on here, Zrec_e30.

                            Thanks, Zack Eberl-Coe

Well since all of my other pictures from flickr seem to disappear and the fact that I never update this thread, my pictures are all from a potato camera, and ST1G is winning at the calypso game, it's pretty much dead. But I will continue to post because fawk it.

For my birthday (back in may) my dad bought me a UUC Stage 3 Evo short shift kit because bavauto was having sale. I have had a guibo and CSB sitting around so he wanted to help kick start my plans of freshening up the drive line pieces. I got all new bushings and just ordered the UUC DSSR to match up with the SSK.

Before I throw in those pictures i'll throw it back to the last post. I got the car running but never could get it to stay at temperature. I couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with the car until one day I was driving around trying to get the bubbles to push out of the system and add more water and then I heard a loud belt squeal. Following the squeal was a quick rise in the temperature gauge and the battery symbol on the cluster to come on. I pulled into a gas station and popped the hood to find the alternator belt laying on the fan clutch, and the A/C belt gone.

This is the first time I have ever had the car towed in the history of owning it so I know I did something wrong installing those belts. I didn't touch the car for another week because I was sick of it's s*** and just ordered up new belts. When I got around to installing the new belts I triple, quadruple checked that the belts were tight enough and all mounting points on the A/C, and Alternator were tight and nothing was to slip. Ever since then the car hasn't had an issue with temperature even after a 4 hour drive home and 4 hours back, A/C works the same as before.

What comes in the UUC kit;D

I promise I am saving up for a DSLR: :coolphoto:

The obligatory drive without the hood.

                              First time for everything

Every time I drive home to Denver I stop in Vail. It's halfway and very beautiful all times of the year.

Although on my trip back from Denver to Grand Junction I tried to avoid some semi-truck tire shreds but it was inevitable. Thank god I didn't take a lip home with me because it took out my drivers side brake duct and the bottom plastic piece in front of the oil cooler.

And finally some late night city cruising pictures. This car needs a switch up and I'm not sure what I am going to do about it since I'm broke, anyone have input? I feel like once I throw on the winter tires, these ESM's are going to be sold and the interior is going to get some attention.

                              Thanks for looking!

                              Zack.
