Is it at all bad to delete the spring pads? Metal on metal? I don't think it would make a huge difference, just wondering.
Car is lowered, and out of the carport.

All its going to do is increase noise, and cause the paint on both surfaces to wear off.Originally posted by kriscoIs it at all bad to delete the spring pads? Metal on metal? I don't think it would make a huge difference, just wondering.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast

I have confidence it is well within my ability, but I've sized up and played with the bumper on the M3 in my driveway... Its going to take a HUGE AMOUNT of modification to make it fit properly, but I can do it.Originally posted by LikeCDoosI almost positive jordan can pull it off, he is amazing at fabricating things to fit and fit nice.Originally posted by randomtask37lookin good.

my advice on spring pads - don't remove them. it's extremely annoying to have the rear springs click all the damn time. You're much better off ordering the thin pads from the dealer and using those. or maybe cutting up the pads so the springs can't move around. Anyway TJ also has experience with this, he put his back on (I haven't yet).Comment

Yeah, I imagine the rears would clack alot. Thats why I left them in. The fronts are constantly compressed against the seat/hat so they dont clack.Originally posted by nandomy advice on spring pads - don't remove them. it's extremely annoying to have the rear springs click all the damn time. Yes the entire car was repainted lachssilber inside, out, and everywhere in between. However it needs to go back to the paintshop and have some of their fuckups corrected. There are ALOT of imprefections I don't like.Originally posted by Spazi'm digging the height and everything....wasn't the car resprayed before you started doing all the work? the e36 bumper will be a nice touch for sure.

because u built that car from the ground up, why did u decide to go with the m20 rather than something a little more beefy like an m50 or s50? are u going for the classic e30 powerplant?98 M3/4/5

I have many plans for the motor. Just not important right now. My m20 is plenty modded for now. I need to get the car on the road, and get rid of the e36 M3.Originally posted by randomtask37because u built that car from the ground up, why did u decide to go with the m20 rather than something a little more beefy like an m50 or s50? are u going for the classic e30 powerplant?Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast
