Indeed, good choice. Thad's engine bay is tits. I painted my intake manifold black and now I wish it were silver, but its not worth removing to paint again until I have to.

any tips on polishing the raised letters and stripes on the valve cover?
(sand paper? wire brush? dremel? if paper, then what grit? etc..)

oooo!!! i want headers for my car as well! the stock manifolds are ugly, rusty, and one is leaking slightly.

That is what I do to scrape most of the paint off. It works well. After you scrape over it (be patient) you can take a piece of sandpaper with a flat block and go over it slowly. Both b25 cover I've done have come out well this way. Etas are harder.

well heres some pictures of my engine bay. i recently painted my intake manafold white. a couple weekends ago, i took it off cuz my intake gaskets went to shit. sounded like a had a turbo whenever i shifted.
i dont have any pics of my manafold yet. but ill post some up once i get them.

I want to do my Valve cover in red wrinkle and do my intake black and then polich the raised portions on both. What do you guys think??

the raised parts on the manifold would be hard to detail. and esp. to try and polish that. it has that casted textured surface. i painted mine white too keep it coooler . i doubt if it matters but. but it looks awesome.

heres some snaps from our 130k+ m42 engine

First shows the cylinder wall condition, which is awesome, hardly and ridge at the top and a preserved hatch

Second shows the head minus cams, valves are also in great condtion, Front bearing journals for the cam have slight wear, but otherwise perfect

Third... Parts getting cleaned up, and semi-polished, helps keep everything a bit clearner, the pores seem to call out for dirt.

i also ported the intake of it (with a file) for an I T.B. im just getting all the parts together so i can do that and a big six afm.
