Close race here between the m30 and ls1.
For the record, our goal is to make these swaps more affordable for DIYers. Once we do this, we will venture into new motors. So keep the ideas coming!Comment

^Honestly the m30 has been done over and over again. They cost next to nothing to install and the mounts are cheap, myself and two other members sell them. That is the only hurdle with the swap.
Do LS1 if you want to bring more parts to DYIers, you could do a CAD for mounts and sell them unwelded so others that can weld could just do that bit.
The hydro boost brakes are dumb, under dash mounts are the way of the future. I am selling off my Massive booster delete by fall to go that route.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

I couldn't agree more. i just completed an under dash mount with the garagistic mount, even though I bought it before garagistic was selling it. Great piece, love the way it all fits together. A lot of in and out, but it's a track car and that's the way I thought it should be done. I used wilwood pedals and full Massive brakes front and rear. Can't wait to get it on the streetComment

I agree with everything this guy said!^Honestly the m30 has been done over and over again. They cost next to nothing to install and the mounts are cheap, myself and two other members sell them. That is the only hurdle with the swap.

only thing is, the LSx engines cost way too much now. What used to be an $800 motor plus an $800 6spd now cost well over $4000. I can't even find a broken 6spd for less than $1500. So if the goal is to save DIY'ers money than it would be void. Maybe a complete kit would be cool but still.
Even the truck blocks are going for big money.

An iron 5.3 can still be had for <$500
That said, there is still that 2k t56 tax. Which sucks when you can purchase a built t5 from summit for $1500. Still isn't a t56 by any means, but the price is right. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.Comment

If I can save $$ by getting mounts that require assembly, I'm all for it. I've got a welder and skillz.
