Hah yes, one would typically think that, but it's shocking how little (even well-sorted) E34 M5's demand.

Glad to see this former BaT car go on to another enthusiast though, for that website to feature it is pretty cool in itself. You'll love these cars, but listen to J. Crivdog on that valve adjustment tip (we have ours done yearly regardless of mileage accumulated.) Other than basic common sense, 3-5k oil change intervals, sensible driving, etc. they aren't as hateful as the internet depicts them to be.

Since you're on the right coast, shoot me a PM if you ever need any S38-specific work performed, I can refer a few reputable shops in the southeast who know these cars well.

Congrats on the purchase by the way, enjoy it!

killer car. I also saw it on bringatrailer a few weeks ago. I daily a '04 V70R 6-speed and like it but the chassis is junk compared to the BMW's I prefer to drive.

I've seen a few e34 m5 tourings or replicas I'd like to jump on but I think my wife would kill me if i spent that kind of money on an "older" car like that. Who knows, maybe I'll jump on the next one.

I'd suggest the Morgan Carbtune tool I purchased to balance the TB's.

I described the process in my M5 build thread and it made a big difference on how the engine responded after adjustment.

It looks like this may have been done already since his adjustment caps are missing in the photos.

gonna be building my own pressure guage setup so I can do all 6 at once, car was already setup to have a valve adjustment by a friend who is a BMW tech. The plenum valve wasnt opening and closing, founbd the issue I think. I know it only opens at WOT and the kick down switch for the old auto trans was still in the car, cuasing the tb's to only open probably 75%. TOOK IT OUT NOW ITS A WHOLE OTHER ANIMAL! Really though this is the best daily I have had and ive had everything from 450hp S2k with a 35r to kia soul. havent had this much fun and enjoyment while driving. the interior is seriously mint and this car hauls ass. I drive it very easy MOST of the time... but its always fun to put 5 cars on some kid with a civic who things he is next to just a grocery getter. here are a few pics Ill be doing more.
