I did a little work. Had to put in the Christmas score. I got new ground cables from BavRest. Pretty solid construction and they fit right in to place as expected. I can't notice any difference but there really shouldn't be any. Peace of mind I guess.
And I also got a set of Pioneer speakers and tweeters with a cross over box. I replaced my rear premiums with those. Definitely louder but not a ton. I had to switch to using an aux instead of my usb cable and that helped with the sound too. Overall Im satisfied and even thinking about grabbing another set to replace the front speakers.

Good to see a rough early model getting some love. I've been driving around a total beater for the last 5 years and I'm finally at the point where I can start fixing it up again. Seems like we share a lot of common goals with our cars
But those square headlights... maybe an acquired taste hahaLeave a comment:

So here were the plans for year two.
Engine swap completed. Got a new stock lip from RogueToaster. Front brakes were changed, never got around to rear pads and rotor. I have them just never did it, but I did have to run new rear hardlines so that counts. No interior changes. And no rust repair again lol.- Most importantly, complete the engine build and swap
- New front lip or ideally still on that euro bumper game but finances will decide this
- A brake job will be needed after engine swap
- I have a few interior pieces still to install and also depending on finances, upgraded speakers
- And a big one, rust repair. I skipped out on the minor spots last year but this year is a must.
Year 3 plans are...
- Fix Tune and 4k stutter problem and break 200 whp!
- Exterior Visual Upgrade of some sort
- New Tires ideally on a different set of wheels
- Switch to m42 radiator
- Clean engine bay
- Rust repair, third times a charm
It seems like a lot but some should be fun. Oh yeah just hit 13,000 miles on the new engine.

Still here living the troubled m20 life. I have a pretty bad stutter as it revs past 4/4500 rpms but I've learned to live with it. It's not like Im doing any road racing or autox right now. I'll get around to typing up how the end of the year with my car has been once I get around to fixing it.
I did just hit my two years of ownership the other day!!!

Thanks! Don't worry the 200 mark will be broken here eventually. I'm not giving up just yet. I've enjoyed staying with the m20 but that's also an innocent me since I've never experienced the m30/s5x/ls world (which would be my choice if I did it again).Leave a comment:

Haven't clicked on this thread in a longgg time. Nice work man! I'm also pretty surprised with your HP numbers, around 200 would have been my guess. Maybe if the person who did your last dyno brought the RPM's to 5500ish you would have got the 200hp mark. Props for keeping the M20 rather then doing the normal s52 swaps we see everyday!Leave a comment:

Some iPhone picture update time. So I had been planning on going to H20i back at the beginning of the month and was prepping by painting my vent cowls, wiper arms, and headlight rings. Small changes but it made a nice difference. However the day before I was suppose to leave I blew out my rear hard lines. No trip for me and instead I got to run new lines. First time doing brake lines but I think for the most part I got it. One small very minor drip from a fitting that Ill get around to eventually. My flares aren't the best. New sunroof seal too.
As in my last post I got a set of square headlights from a friend. He was using HID conversion so his wiring is different and let me use these to be different for awhile. I also got a new plastic lip and painted it black so it looks fresh (but its held on with zipties). Slowly but surely my cars coming along.

The local Pepboys had a dyno at their car show today so I figured why not toss the car on it. I told the guy to take it to 6800-7000 but he let off at 5000 because he said it felt weird. Watching it from the side, it sounded normal and driving home it had no problem going to 7k so I don't know what was up with him. Anyways I scanned and uploaded the graph...
192hp with 202ft/lb lifting at 5000 rpms!

That's an awesome surprise! You can understand my disappointment when I originally only saw 182 when I expected over 200.Leave a comment:
