Wow. So what was his reason for ignoring it? Seems absurd to have an engine rebuilt then let a car sit to rot. Either way, great score for you

An absolute steal. I hope you enjoy that car for the rest of your life.

As far as rim choices go, I've always been a fan of BBS LMs or RGRs on E30 M3s.

Sorry, but you are way off on your pricing scale. That's more like a 1500 dollar transmission in it's current used condition.
Word. They fetch a pretty penny but let's not go nuts, lol.

Awesome find, OP. That is a crazy clean car and you got it for an insane deal. Looks great! Keeping the 323?

Looks like it has extended leather rear side panels too?

                Enjoy!

Amazing story, thanks for rescuing it! I just can't believe the PO. He doesn't want to sell the car, but also doesn't want to drive it, and doesn't care if it gets crushed.. WTF??

Dude, there are a LOT of people hoarding the cars so they can restore them "someday" while the car sits and rots. I can think of at least 5-6 like this in the LA area alone. A couple of members here came up on their M3's this way.

They don't cost 7kpounds, I got mine for a little over 1k. Actually finding one is the challenge

                          OP congrats!

That's it. I am moving to Germany.

Incredible price for an incredible car.

I don't want to get into too much detail, but the previous owner was suffering from depression due to a tragic accident he was involved in (fortunately this didn't happen in the M3). He lost interest in everything after the accident.
