Measured the space between the g240 output flange and the diff flange, got 59". Measured stock m20 g260 driveshaft (mostly compressed), got 58 1/2" (including guibo). Yeah, that'll do just fine...

Glad it's working out! Did you get mounts welded up yet?

No man, I've got the motor in the bay, but my tools for steel working are a bit limited. I probably won't get anything done until next week. I'm working like a dog all this week. It's fall break next week and my kids will be with me so I'll be able to be home and do some work on it.

          M30b30 manifolds are neat...

So I'm at the pullpart yesterday cause they had this old 1977 530i. I had seen pics of the intakes on older m30 motors and they kinda talked to me. They are made up of 9 separate pieces. 6 U-shaped runners that connect the "log" to the 2 actual intake flanges. The possibilities are endless. Think, what could be mounted to these U-shaped pieces. Hint: It's a supercharger manifold. Oh crap that wasn't really a hint...

That's a cool find! I kind of hate the look of the typical m30 intake, but that setup looks great. How does the port size compare to the b34?

Get the "logs" off of an e21. They are an upgrade.

I'll let the pics do the talking. Then I'll talk.

Yeah, so a little smaller, but I think a die grinder could do wonders. The inside diameter of the runners (u-shaped) is 1 3/4". The dimensions of the runner at the head 1 5/8"x1 1/4" so significantly smaller for to speed up the air. I'll likely just grind off the bump and go with it.

What kind of manifold is the one on the left? It does not look like a B34 port shape.

You could also go with ITBs or Carbs... Very cool indeed

I think the injector orifices in the earlier manifold are not compatible with electronic fuel injectors, some adaptation may be required...

You should have someone airbrush to banana tubes to look like actual bananas.

The manifold on the left is the one that came on my free m30b34. It says 3.2/3.5 on it. I thought that was the tell. If it said 3.5 it was a b35, if it said 3.2/3.5 it's a b34. But it certainly could've been modified at some point I reckon.

And LJ, correct about the injector orifices. They're not quite deep enough, but a little augmentation will have them juuuuust right.

All B34 intakes/heads basically look like the older manifold in your pictures. B34 manifolds also have 2 steel braces from the top of the manifold to the valve cover where as the B35 does not.

Post a pic of the intake ports on the head.
