So sweet, and great story man! This would be fun to read in the BMWCCA magazine. Sadly it has gone down hill over the last few years.
Cant wait to see what you do with the car. Congratulations!

        another e30 m3 story

I too kinda fell into an e30 m3. Don't hate on me this it's all legal !! I got mine off the streets of a very large west coast city . It got pushed into the street by a repair shop that wanted nothing to do with the owner. bad blood, bad words, or not paying the bill ? What I did hear from the shop was that the owner was in jail for drugs . Did not know anymore than that ,did not need to know any more. We towed this m3 off the major city street Before the city's contracted tower picked it up . After getting the car to a safe place we did the title search and than legal lien. Payed the back reg/parking tickets (aprox $750) and retitled into my name. Car is complete , runs, but does need the missing love. I've got that Love . Again don't hate on my, What would You do ? Joe

We thought about doing that but decided it was the wrong way to go about it. Regardless of if it was legal or not we didn't want to essentially " steal " the car .

I think you did good. It would have just been auctioned off to somebody who would flip it, or worse, crushed. plus some druggie who owed $750 in parking fines and was sitting in jail probably wasn't going to do anything with the car anyway.
