Update, Scored a Getreg 420g out of a 2000 540i, I go pick it up on monday. Still need a Flywheel, clutch and 404 ECU at this point, and of course all the garagistic goodies to bolt it in. Pictures on monday.

I'm currently doing the same swap and I bought the book from MACALENT. For the cost of the whole swap, you'd be foolish not to spend an extra $25 or whatever it costs to buy the book. It is a very well written manual and worth every penny!Patryk:up:Originally posted by 36brua

Saw your Q about the ABS stuff in another thread.
Simple answer.....don't use the stupid remote brake booster....do the Wilwood thing. Then everything can stay where it is....ABS, etc. Just run two lines to the master cylinders and done.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

from my research the orange dealer sticker was a service bulletin software update that they did to cars that were brought in for service, much like a recall. i've had 4 e34 404 dmes in my hands and two had the sticker and two did not. shouldnt make a difference, either way.

Here comes a dumb question!
M60 and M62 flywheels, Are they interchangeable?
I'm trying to locate a flywheel and clutch for my swap, and I have the opportunity to buy the set that was attached to the M62 that I got my 420g from. I don't want to go back to the dual mass, but it looks like I am going to have no choice, unless I come to a point where I can drop $2k on a set up.
