1993 Vert Build Progress - bagged and 5 spd swapped
That looks like christmas-damn-morning! Black verts with hard tops are the best. Right on!

Absolutely is. I ended up running a ratchet strap from the guibo to the subframe in order to yank it off.
Everything just got a whole lot better from here, as new parts start to go in. This weekend I should have the resealed g260 in, along with new clutch, lightened flywheel and new pilot bearing and a slew of other new parts. Maybe the car will move itself again sometime soon.
just a taste of all the new..
Nice slew of parts, I replaced all the essental parts, and used everything else I bought on the forum, so far its golden, my 16yo daughter drives it every day,
I pulled the autotragic and threw it in the back of my old truck, to the recycler it goes!
I remember seeing your car;s for sale ad on craigslist! The seller seemed pretty honest about everything. Nice to see you're putting so much work into it
Just need to throw the heat shields and exhaust back on and I should be good to have it move itself again. I didn't take any time for photos so I'll have to grab some this weekend.
And because 22 year old hardware sucks, lots of new stuff from McMaster Carr showing up lately:

Yeah, he was a really nice guy and I owe him some finished product photos.

Coming along nicely! I'm kinda digging those wheels on the parts car haha
Ha, they were not bad looking wheels. Essentially just a 4 lug version of the XXR 002, though. They are long sold, along with most everything from the parts car, which ended up being tremendously lucrative.

What kind of order did you place? I would like to order some stock but have no idea about how to go about it. I guess with all the different random sizes.

Progress looks good!
M6, M8 and M10 nuts and washers are an easy way to start as BMW uses the standard thread pitch. M12s are a pain because BMW uses M12 x 1.5 pitch which are impossible to find. I've been changing M12s to M12 x 1.75 as it's the standard. Also, BMW almost universally seems to use non-marring flange nuts. I went with class 10.9 plated steel for most everything.
Bolts get a bit more difficult but I've been working a list of common sizes I can send you or post up. Just spent some time digging around on realoem.

Well it's finally off of jack stands! Got to drive it around a little bit and it felt fantastic. A MASSIVE improvement over the last time I had it on the road. All has paid off thus far..
This weekend's accomplishments:
New spark plugs
Bav-auto plug wires
Valve adjustment
Valve cover gasket
brake fluid flush
new rear brakes
Install exhaust with new gaskets, hangers & hardware
Finished off the wiring
DRIVE.
Couple small things to button up still (because I started getting snowed on..) then it's off to storage for the winter.
Rear brakes on and looking pretty.
On the ground and moving itself again. Feel free to ignore the super messed up soft top.
