Bro, like I told you on bimmerforums, you gotta take out that cross brace first, otherwise, it's gonna give you 5 more days of headaches. The VSR bar sits flush to the roof of the car, which actually does help stiffen some components marginally.

Meh, its in now though :) I still dont see how that center piece will go in or out with the outer hoop bolted down. But again, in anycase, the job is done!

With that said, I wasnt expecting any gains as far as handling goes, but I swear on really sharp corners and curves you do feel a difference.

I was merely stating that on a necassity level. In an emergency, I have access to them. Nobody in there right mind would run around with rear seat passengers and a bar any old time. In an emergency however, I would like to not eliminate that as a possibility. 99% of the time its only me and sometimes a passenger. Any more and thats why I have my 4 door with no roll bar. :)

You seem to be awfully defensive there bro, hitting a little too close?

It looks really silly for a car that has never seen a track in its life to run around on the streets with a rollbar. Makes about as much sense as people that buy 2k worth of adjustable suspension components so they can raise and lower their cars for their parking lot photoshoots.

It screams "poseur" and "riceboy" a lot louder than a big aluminum wing or some type R decals. It's as bad as the guys that show up for an HPDE1 with 4 rolls of wanker tape on the front of their cars.

There's no way I'd put up with the hassle of a bar in a daily driven street car. At least one that initially had more than two seats.

Why did you go with the street bar as opposed to the race bar Without the cross and harness bars?? Same bar, the street one is just softer metal. I just ordered a race bar with bolt in cross bar. They say they are identical less the different metals used.

I talked with auto power. They have two. The street bar doesnt come with those, you are right. But the race bar can come without them too. And the race bar is made out of a stronger metal. Just curious why you went with the softer one is all man.

Maybe you didnt know they used different metals, maybe you didnt know you could get an identicle bar that was stronger. Just tryin to find out if there was a purpose for the street as opposed to race quality? A reason that I overlooked?
