Thanks and yes that is my number one concern...exploring the car has been a real treat as well. Nearly each time I tinker or drive the car I notice some detail from the past that tells the cars story. Recently noticed a badge on the headers that said "fabricated by Alf Gebhardt", who if your not a vintage BMW racing nut, is a former 24 hour Daytona winner for starters. More on Alf's history racing BM's...http://www.racingsportscars.com/driv...hardt-USA.html

These details of its story are, to me, the coolest part of having this car.

I am still gathering details on engine specs but I do know that the engine went to Russ Collins originally to be fetteled with. Not 100% at this point as to all details on the build but do know a little.

The engine is a 2.7 M20 with custom intake setup, forged Pistons, larger cams (still investigating spec), RC blue printed injectors, headers with straight through side exit exhaust, tuned ECU (still investigating), lightweight flywheel driven through an E30 M3 LSD.

My first test drive...she felt good but wasn't running like it should have been.
Later we learned that the car was running the wrong ECU (transport and testing reasons apparently) which explained the rough idle amd occasional stumbling.

First test drive - She does like to hang it out! (Cold slicks on a cool day)

Anyone have any experience with Mason Engineering? I recently ordered several of their chassis reinforcement items and was curious to see if any of you have these items tested on your E30s?

Thanks for that! Hopefully soon she will be restored and all the way back to original in many ways.

This genuine BMW competition car has an estimated 1500 miles since new, according to logbook activity and race entry research. The car currently sits fully refreshed and ready to be raced in SVRA, SCC
