I'm not going to anymore. I know how to paint/ do body work.

But when I start on my truck, I'm looking at 3-4 months of nothing but sanding and getting all the old off. So I'm not even gonna touch this car right now on the body. Just keep washing it and maybe when spots get bad enough I'll fix them.

I been looking at m3 panels for the rear and fenders and body kit.

There's really only 2 spots on the car that have me thinking right now.

Also I wish I could get an admin to clean up this thread about that whole conversation so people don't keep bringing it up or have to read how everyone was an asshole to each other. But it is, what it is.

      To the OP:

Sometimes, as a new member, we start off a little rough here on R3v.

Keep plugging along and you'll be alright. People will forget about your shenanigans and horrible ideas.

Have fun with the car. Ditch the automatic.

Your paint now is nicer than half the cars on the forum. I think many folks frustration comes from the fact that most of us would kill to have a solid 10 footer like that. Perfect for a daily.

You should cut, seal, and polish the paint and see where it gets you. You'd kick your own ass in a year once you mature a bit in taste if you sand/rust/clear and realize that patina is what you do if you live at home with your mom and drive a vw rabbit with cut springs with an "I Väpe" euro vanity plate.

Suspension work looks good. Be careful going too low up front or you'll have next to no suspension travel. Poly rear diff bushing is going to make everything loud inside the cab, but not as bad as delrin. If you don't like the noise, go OEM.

Offset CABs go a long way. These Volligs are a very good affordable option.

Good tires go a long way.

Overall you've got a clean platform to work with. I think in a few years you will focus less on "what shit can I do right now" and think about more functional mods, and we're all just trying to save you from that. LED lights, weird shifter, etc all fall under the category of "what shit can I do right now".

        Good work, keep it up.

Oh, and stop using JB weld on shit.

As of right now, I give a shit about things in the long run.
I'm a nissan technician so I see a lot of things not taken care of and make me want my cars to last as long as they possibly can. Hint why I'm fixing everything that looks like it's about to or is broken/leaking

The LEDs are nice and bright if they freaking work. And the only thing I jb welded was the dome light cause it was brittle and broke.

Suspension is super low in the front, I do bottom out on some bumps on interstate at 65 mph. But never in town unless it's a road I never taken before. I never drive this car hard or fast. So I never bottom out, just sometimes scrape on random shit.

And I know with poly stuff I'll get more nvh, and I don't want oem in this car. I want a solid driver. I like how I can take corners at 50 that most cars have to take at 35, and I never hit the brake and this never has body roll. Before I do any lore upgrades. The obvious needs to be fixed first for a solid daily.

The control arm assemblies have been replaced recently so I'm not changing them unless I feel the need to, and they are the offset bushings I do believe. Been a minute since I have been under it.

The auto will stay in it till I feel like I need to upgrade the tranny, it shifts smooth as butter and pulls hard in every gear. So it's staying in the car as of now.

The "weird shifter" is cause the oem one was not there when I got the car. So I bought this one. I plan to get an oem. If you don't like the shifter knob. Send me an oem one!

This fucking car. Today was suppose to be simple. Oil change, oil cooler housing/filter housing o ring, tire balance, and check everything for tightness.. Well the checking part went south. Like literally.

A couple weeks ago I left an e30 meet and hit 2 huge potholes. And noticed a funny feel in car in certain turns. So as I was tapping the tie rod ends with my snap on mallet. The driver outer shoots out of the knuckle/strut housing and strips all the threads on the tie rod and nut.
Go to Home Depot for a m10x1 nut and found one and bought 3. Tried my best to get at least 1 but to start but absolutely wouldn't.
So I have 2 brand new nuts and 1 effed one.

It will be pushed outside on some car dollies till my spacers arrive for the E36 swap. It never ends with this here car.

I couldn't help thinking of this thread when I saw this car at the scrap yard yesterday:

The PO must have been pretty hardcore about the whole Pantina lifestyle - too bad they didn't clear coat it before things got out of control. ;)

                      Nice update!
Agent and I installed the e36 rack. A lot more simple then I thought It was gonna be.

On the old rack it was holding around half a quart in each boot. Here's a picture of the first boot removed..

That moment you align your car. And agent says "the passenger is barely off"
I couldn't help but laugh when I saw this.

I think maybe the joints in the coupler I got from a member on here are bad. On my rocky driveway it makes a little noise and has a slight vibration in the wheel when I barely turn it. Other then that this car drives and steers tight and fast now. Hopefully I can enjoy driving it again without any worry for a little while.

Rides good actually. 75-80.. We think PO put the offset lca bushings on the wrong side. But wasn't sure so we left it. but from what the picture looks like, it's suppose to be around 8.5 degrees of caster by spec. It's barely off on each side.

So I can't leave anything alone. It looked to me as if the PO had left the windows down once or twice in the cars life and never tried to clean the water or even spilled something. I'm a clean freak and it was nice outside yesterday. So the seats got pulled.

Here's what it looked like before a vacuum was used.

There was a water spot in drivers floor board. Here's a before picture of it.

After about an hour and a half, both sides were clean. Used some stain remover for clothes, original krud kutter, a tooth brush, dish brush, and a bucket of soapy water with dawn soap. Then used a vacuum to suck up as much water from the carpet as possible. Did this about 3-4 times. But of course it needed to air dry, so I'll take a picture today when I get home from work. So here's a picture of it kinda damp.

I even cleaned seats tracks and the little nut covers.

On another note. My Mtech 1 wheel will be here today.
I ordered an oem shifter knob and a working window switch from a member, and a working 6 button obc. And a front lip for eBay, it was cheap, so if it breaks. I won't feel as bad.

                              Ah snap. Another stupid update..

Steering wheel is in, along with a 6 button obc.

New to me seats, that I dyed. But didn't let the drivers dry long enough so it has peeled in spots. They were both passenger seats, that I switched a frame and all the works over to the drivers side seat. It had a broke mount for the back portion. Now it's all fixed and ready to be used.
                              Before:

After paint and fixing 1 seat, don't mind the ugly headrests.

Also got a eBay lip put on. I dig it a lot. Now the rear needs about 1 inch lower.

Next on the to buy list- camber plates for front, order crush wagers for power steering banjo bolts and the out line for the auto trans, silicone hoses for the cooling system and fix the tiny coolant leak, along with the valve cover that is getting worse..

                                Another small update.
Been messing with the suspension. Put IE rear springs in with bullies. Rides good but kinda stiff and having a small thunk over bumps. I thinks it's because of the poly diff bushing and you can here everything.
The front got camber plates and billstiens also. Very unhappy cause it raised the car up an inch or so. But ride quality is great. When I took the kyb front struts out of the housings. They were pouring fluid out from where I lowered it so much and blew the hell out of them. Whoops!
Next check will mostly go to bills. But hopefully some maintenance items too.
