I bet that paint will polish up nice. The hood might need some love though. Looking forward to it.

I made a brilliant decision.
So I've finally been able to dig into this car.
I replaced the ball joints and tie rods along with doing a reseal on the steering rack. I dont have many pics of the ball joints. Here is some pics of my rack
Apart
And resealed with a condor ps delete plate.
I also ripped off the ugly steelies and slapped these on.
I need to get an alignment done and finish ripping out the ps system. I will do that when i do the alignment at school cause I'm to lazy to do it here. I also noticed the needle like to creep just past center when im sitting in traffic. I think it may be time for an electric fan or maybe my water pump is getting weak. So my next plans for it are
-fix ODO gears
-alignment
- check sump bolts
-doing timing and oil pan gaskets.
-change trans fluid
-electric fan conversion
-cooling system overhaul
Those are the immediate plans for it. Im sure enjoying the peppy little m42.
Also after some driving my steering wheel has a ton of play im gonna need to fix that.Last edited by ThatOneEuroE30; 07-31-2016, 08:01 PM.

Ahem. It is now.
Lowered on billy sports and h&r super sports. It handles incredibly well now. Next up is to install this
Fixed up the gauge cluster with new gears and some paint on the needles.
I also picked up an Italvolanti for it but need it to get recovered.
Next up on the things to do this weekend are check the sump bolts, oil change, trans flush, rebuild the shifter with derlin/poly bushings and z3 Short shifter. I also gotta change my plugs and put on a new Valve cover gasket as my plugs are completely submerged. I really am loving this little slick top. The m42 is an amazing engine so peppy and rev happy. I'm hoping this spring to get a 4:10 LSD and do a cooling system overhaul. Will also need brakes by then too.

Absolutely LAAAVE everything you are doing right now with this thing.
I too just picked up another 1991 318i to start fresh again so we're in this together.
And cheers to another one with mudflaps! FYI - extremely jealous of your steering wheel.
