Jenny started bugging me last month about wanting a 'cooler' car than her 325e, considering I have a 325i and 325iC that are both a bit nicer. After competing with 24 people who called and 16 people who test drove the car, we were able to purchase this. Between Jenny and I we now own an '89 325i, '89 325iC, '88 325iX, and a '97 540i6.
It's a 1988 325iX 5-speed coupe with 110,000 miles and we bought it from the original owner. I've never seen an E30 as loaded as this: heated seats, maplight mirror, 13 button OBC, etc. It's in good overall condition and runs like a dream. As you can see in the pics it came with studded tires mounted on plain steel wheels, but they also included the basketweaves with summer tires. They removed the front lip when they went up to the mountain, but it's in the trunk in great condition. The leather is decent aside from the driver seat bolster, just needs to be cleaned and reconditioned. Overall, Jenny is ecstatic. She says she likes this car better than her old Del Sol, so maybe now she'll quit talking about it :D
It does have a couple issues, such as needing an alignment, new rear shocks, and a couple leaks fixed. First thing I'm going to do is hit it with the Porter Cable and some Optimum products. I have a feeling this paint is going to look amazing. Here are some pics right now, as we received it. I'll be sure to update this thread periodically.
