I can't see the pics, but I'm sure it's nice work - what inserts did you use for cut ix housings? when I talked to J. he told me there was no point in cutting them, as the struts were already as short as they could be. as it sits now I have about 2" of suspension travel with the adjusters spun all the way down.
and whats with the soft rates? ;) I also thought my ride improved despite much stiffer springs. but ix H&Rs are just OE sports in the front with some sort of custom rate for the rear - they work but I always had the feeling it was way undersprung.
if you want 300-350whp, you're not going to want to run 10:1 with a turbo, but that's another discussion.Comment

same here - set it to your spring rates and forget it (which may take a couple times). you don't really have to remove the rears to adjust them either; I removed the bumpstops long ago (they're so small I doubt they would help anyway), so all you have to do is back up onto some ramps, undo the 19mm bolt and twist. Much easier than removing all my trunk carpet, I think.Comment

Im not quite sure what inserts they are but ground control know as they are they ones who did the kit. i was originally going to do it but they gave me a "deal" on them, they wanted to put together an ix kit. Really though i enjoy the ride better than the H@Rs with any setting on the konis.I can't see the pics, but I'm sure it's nice work - what inserts did you use for cut ix housings? when I talked to J. he told me there was no point in cutting them, as the struts were already as short as they could be. as it sits now I have about 2" of suspension travel with the adjusters spun all the way down.

they're are 2 jays. Im talking about J at ground control. Your prolly talking about the one at "big fish motorsports"? Hes into rallye believe. With sitiffer spring rates i dont believe that much travel is needed, exp for on road useage. But thats just me ive been doing this for 5 years as jay has a history. I dunno. But i know the front tires are tucked a tad bit now and i love the stance so much. Handles great. Cant wait to snap some pics.
Nando what rates did you go with? i don't recall ?Comment

pretty firm but not terrible on the road - just avoid as many of the biggest bumps you can. ;)
any idea how much they shortened them? It's hard for me to tell, but it couldn't have been much - there isn't a whole lot of travel on yours either. are you using 5" or 6" springs?
here's my strut for reference

oh yeah the rubbing in your strut towers is from the swaybar links - the suspension compresses a lot on H&R sports, and if you have more negative camber the ends of the link will hit the inside of the towers. I'd check the clearances of your links, although it won't compress nearly as much now. ;)Comment

I got 6inch front 5 rear. I should have gone with the same rates as you did. Im not a 100 percent positive but im pretty sure that it was the lower perch... and i seen rubbage on the lower strut perch. I didn't see anything on the links..Comment

Got the car on the alignment rack. Dont have any pics yet, but the front wheels are tucked right now W/-3 degrees of camber and 3 deg of caster. Im gunna set it to -2deg of camber for the street. says -1.5 is in spec. No noticeable rubbing up front yet with 16x7's et25 with a 225/45/16 tire at full lock both ways. I set the toe at spec, seemed like a good start.Comment
