There's nothing wrong with 'domestic' oil filters really. In fact Purolator is an OEM BMW mfg'r and has been for years, all the original canister filters were made by Purolator until BMW switched to the cartridge type and now uses Mahle and Mann.

So get your $4 Purolator from Bi-Mart and save the $6 over the dealership filter for some beer and titties :)

Josh, what kind of exhaust are you running on the convertible?

Let me know what day you want to meet in Oly for those Bottle caps and I'll arrange accordingly.
The front gap is still a little bigger than the rear gap but that will be fixed soon with drop hats:)

Good call i should probably repaint that. I was going to do it a while ago but forgot about it. Its the original dealer frame so i would like to keep it though.

So yesterday i was able to get the block and trans out.

    Obligatory open bay shot.

Removed trans and flywheel from bunk motor.

Good motor and trans went in tonight. Should have the car done by tomorrow night if i work diligently.

IDK i suppose if the next motor this car gets turns out to be decent i may do that but i honestly dont know how long i will even have this motor in this car. And thats a brand new filter i just bought and now i find out the motor was junk. Jasons car ran fine with that eta motor though so hopefully it will be a good one.
