Kay lul I figure I should start a thread.

Bought this schrick 288 a while ago:



Then got an M52 crank from Matt, complete with aids.



Got the spare M20 in the backyard and the eta rods on my night stand. If you haven't already figured it out I'm building a 2.8l M20 stroker. M52 crank, eta rods, stock I pistons. Schrick 288 up top. Only thing I'm waiting on is the spacer from MJG and then once that's here I'll order MegaSquirt from lifeiskaos for management. (Unless someone has a better idea) The idea behind this is to keep the motor looking stock to avoid hassle from the cops, I have no idea how much power it will make but I'm hoping for more than the turbo 318 (167whp). If it doesn't make enough, or when I'm just bored of it, I'm going to spray it.

what valve springs you going to use? i'd follow the advice in ixer's stroker thread. Lots of detail on M20 heads in there.

how much was the cam btw?

Got the cam used for 200 bucks.

I figured I'd just get stock springs, only looking to rev to 7k or so.

you don't want to use stock springs with that cam, unless you want to break rockers. It's not an issue of RPMs, it's an issue of lift and duration + RPMs. The thread on E30 tech has several suggestions for springs you could use. stock springs with that cam will float the valves, floating valves on an interference, rocker arm engine is very bad. :)

Ebay headers to stock I exhaust to a magnaflow for now. The white car is long gone lol.

if you can try to keep a resonator somewhere along the way, otherwise that setup might rasp you right out of your seat.

yes, as long as they are the right dimensions. There were a few specific part #s mentioned on the last page.
