you can, but after you have your car on a dyno, you'll see the shape of your torque curve and know when it's not worth reving past. it might be 6500, 7k, who knows until it runs. :)
What exactly is float? Is that when the valves stay open becuase the cam pushes it open too far? This should be an interesting build btw, can't wait to see what it makes

no, it's when the spring is too soft, and the valve opens/closes so fast that the spring can no longer keep the rocker pressed against the cam lobes. so the next revolution when the cam lobe comes up, it wacks into the rocker and eventually breaks the rocker.
