Danny, elaborate on the notching of the block, piston skirts, and intermediate shaft to fit the crank...

              ...please?

Well there is no notching of the block. Only shaving the counterweights of the crankshaft. And if I can't shve enough material safely, I'll have to notch the piston skirts. Excuse the spelling, this is from my phone.

                    Thanks buddy.

Still would like to know if anyone has experience with VAC valve springs.

I have been using them for 1.5 years.......quite a bit stiffer than stock/schrick or MM so only use them if you need them.

Would they be okay with a 288 and HD rockers?

what's the PN? did ixer have those posted in his thread about valve springs? if they are similar to the ones he reccomended, use them. I don't know about too stiff being a problem (could be if your rockers are junk) but too soft definitely can be.

So I've been chatting with a few people about this and they said I can only do 7k rpm on stock rods? Opinions?

which ones? 135mm, 130mm, M52? in any case - yes, you can do that just fine. The only thing is your RR with 130mm rods will be quite low, the motor will make most of it's torque down low and fall off a bit up top. it might not be beneficial to rev that high.
