    And thennnnnnnn. Sold most of my turbo bits. Still have the manifolds and exhaust if anyone is keen.

    Dropping an M20B27 in it to get it running again with the view to sell the car shortly after I complete the M3ti build.

    there has been lots of developments. Some not so nice and others quite nice. I have another engine in the car now, factory rods gave out at mid 20's boost on the race track.

    New engine is a bit fancier, rods, solid lifters, bigger cams, little bit of head work. We are making 255kw currently......on only 19psi of boost! Previous engine was 265 @ 24psi. so the bit of head work is working well.

    I got the car together for the hillclimb again this year but pushed a bit too hard on the last run, clipped the Armco tweaking the steering. Red mist prevailed and I attempted to push on to salvage the run and ran up a gutter :(

    I am just getting back into fixing it with the hope to attend a tarmac rallysprint (3.2km short special stage) as a bit of fun. New tyres will be a requirement ;)

    I don't have incar from the last run (another theory as to my error, everything goes wrong when the camera is off) as the battery went flat. But a mate was spectating and got footage of me running wide and up the gutter. I was well into 3rd gear, probably about 130kph when I run out of talent and clip the Armco.

    What class do you compete in? Is it based off engine displacement (plus multiplier for FI?)
    My car is what we call a Sports Sedan now. Unrestricted / Non OEM Turbo/Supercharger builds are normally thrown in this class, which is anything goes. There was an escort in my class with a 2.2L SR20, plastic windows and fibreglass panels plus big AERO. I am getting there eventually. For me it was just something local to test the car :)

    When you put it like that sounds a lot less sane.....haha None of those things enter my mind when I' strapped in though. Just focus on keeping it on the black stuff and get up the hill.

    It's a Getrag G260 and 3.46 rear. The car will do 160kph in 3rd gear. So yet it was a bit too tall for the smal tight Hillclimb. Bit should be perfect for holdi 4th gear at Wakefield and winding it out down the straight at Eastern Creek

    You have a ZF trans I assume?

    Would you want more gear or less?

    I have 3.73 in my car with a ZF, but havent been able to drive it much to see if its too much gear.

    Intense? Nah thats just me driving, was pretty average too! Amazing how much confidence you loose after a year out of the seat!

    I booked some time off work so now I gotta get it prepped for Eastern Creek (same track as WTAC) on 25th of October.

    Made it through the first event not without drama but I made it!

    -coming home from scrut Thursday night got a flat tyre on the trailer (not so fun)
    - Friday morning same wheel feel off trailer, broken stub axle!
    - Monday morning rip exhaust off car trying to get off borrowed trailer. Got it patched up just in time for first run.
    - Second run intercooler pipe comes off, hmmm did that on dyno, reassemble should be sweet.
    - Third run, nope off it goes again.
    - Fourth run all apples, rigged up some dodgy tie straps to the inlet.

    Obviously this turbo setup was never going to be super awesome for a Hillclimb, add in that I had installed a 3.46 diff to suit Wakefield and Eastern Creek and it wasn't super pleasant. But I am pleased to have had a day out, simple easy to fix dramas and it came home straight and ready to go again, more than can be said for a number of cars that were competing also.

    The stock M42 (not M44) crank and rods are forged. I am quite confident this setup will go close to 300kw once I wind the boost up more. I kind of wish I put rods in it, because my tuner was being a girl about revving it any harder :P
