What happened to the old suspension?
I sold the KW's for 10.000NOK and got a set of stock front struts that I send to Intrax for building.

This setup was 4780EUR including shipping to Norway.

    So...here we go!

It started with a sound from the gearbox/clutch area. When I pulled the gearbox i found this:

All that was left of the pilot bearing

    Yes...

New clutch, same, but with stage 3 disc

When first having the gearbox down, I choose to change the rod bearings and add ARP bolts. Note that the rods are forged in one piece, then cracked in two. This allow more or maybe equal square inch of aerea that the two aereas are laying against eachother. (bad word use)

Made more room for the headers

Oil pan was washed in a industrial washin machine

    Sandblasted the BBS RC's centers

Motorsport Hardware bulletnose 82mm race studs and titan extended race nuts

New engine mounts from Demon-Tweeks in UK

Differential was VERY sloppy, so new had to be bought. I choose the best. OS-Giken 1.5 way Superlock LSD

Mounted with all new bearings and seals. $$$$$$!!!!!!!!!

    V-Band clamps on the exhaust

Took the oilpump out and cleaned it. Also spot welded the nut

All new bearings, stock clearance, with ARP bolts mounted. Hope this last.

All new Performance Friction 11 Compound race pads. I demand only the best. This is the shit.

    Motorsport Hardware 15mm spacers

Polished the lips on the BBS's

    Clutch fitted

New OEM rear rotors was needed. E36M3 rear as well

The biggest treat this year. I have waited for this for three years now, at last I got the money! Intrax 1K2 with Anti Roll Control and Black Titan coating. Springs at front is 100/180mm and rear is 30/200mm. This does NOT fit the car. I had to modify the rear upper mount a lot. This because I want a very low ride hight. When using the upper mounts that follow this set, I was hitting the bump stop when I was at ride hight.

    My solution

If you look close, you can see I had to cut a bit off the metal that covers the tank ventilation in order to get enought travel for the reservoir on the damper.

At front I have removed the inner fenders and grinded the egde that is inside there and spot welded it upwards. This to get more room for suspension travel. I will re weld the whole inner fender at some point later.

    Fitted

Had to grind some on the front calipers in order to clear the BBS RC's

Almost like on the DTM cars

New mid silencer, the old one was cracked and welded 10 times. It was more a amplifier than a silencer. Since it is oval, I cut it open and weld it flat to get more ground clearance.

Modified the engine mounts. I have had the engine on M20 rubber in the holes that are closes to the beams. I measured the engine and found out is was missalligned. So I had to allign it, and with that I put on these E36M3 mounts and modified the stock aluminum arms to fit. Now the engine is dead straight in the car and also about 5mm more backwards in the car.

    Ducts to the engine

Getting new tires on all of my rims. For thouse who are interested in cars, and not only BMW, my daily is a 96 Audi S6 2.2t. About 330hp.

BBS was finally restored. (No point asking for the gold color code)

First time on the ground since january. Not adjusted in the hight here. Pretty low at the rear. Had do adjust it up to get the jack out!

A solid round of detailing was done!

    And a small photoshoot

My OZ Mitos' are not fitting any more at the rear. So they will be sold and there will be bought some new show/road rims in 8.5 and 9x18. I have choosen Work Meister S1 3piece as my new wheels. Good thing I just fitted new tires to the Mito's.

US S5x's don't run on 5 bar, so they're ok with stock e30 filters.
