I had a cheese holed lower airbox for a while now.

trying another setup with DEI gold heat reflecting tape on a separate airbox with no holes.
i like tinkering if you guys couldn't tell already

Woot I bought these for myself as birthday present.
I have really wanted these for a long time but they are just a bit expensive.
I purchased a set of 60mm top hats and 2.5 inch top hats
I have a set of 60mm helper springs and 2.5 helper springs to play with.
I also ordered extra hardware just to have

    I love taking everything apart.

    mocking it up.
    E30 Camber/Caster Plate,
    60mm top hat
    60mm Swift helper springs
2.5 to 60mm adapters that I machined myself

    old setup
new 5k mile old stock upper bearing
custom top hat 14mm bilstein shock shaft
2.5 id hypercoil springs 330 lb 6 inch length

    start with this

cool tool i purchased a while ago.
its a 3/4 socket with a hex shape on the top to grab it with a wrench and you can fit an allen tool inside to hold the shock shaft from spinning.

all gone no impact tools required

    out with the old

camber plates in with the slot for caster adjusted to be close to stock currently running 9 degrees of positive caster.

    strut bar back on

    new springs
thanks to Mike an Engineer at Eibach for answering my questions. he is currently in the market for a badass e30 coupe

    old vs new

Hypercoil 2.5 id .440 compressed length 4 inch free length

and pics with it in the car

Got the ride height set with 1/16 of an inch difference from driver front to passenger front with me in the car.
thats close enough ballpark before doing a corner balance.

Wife got me a set of harnesses for my birthday
    Schroth Racing
    6 point cam lock
    3 inch
    pull up lap belts
clip in 5th and 6th points

I wasnt satisfied with the choices of reinforcement plates avilable so I made my own.
    Purchased 3/16 steel plate
    made a template
got a layout to make the most out of the material i purchased to have little waste.

    marked out the cut lines

i could only mockup the eyebolts on the floor.
I made just a 4x4 plate for the inner lap belts until i had time to drop the exhaust heat shield and exhaust and make the inner lap belt reinforcement plate

everything lines up so now its time to drill some holes

    proper brideport vertical mill

holes drilled bottom square plates ended up looking exactly like the other ones for inner lap belt plates

quick coat of paint so they dont rust

the seat belt rail that the seat belt slides back and fourth on has a bolt that goes into the e30 chassis floor.
its a metric head bolt but uses an american thread.
    its a 7/16-20 1.5 standard thread pitch.

I was able to get some through Evasive Motorsport in LA.
    cheapest place i found

doing it again i would have purchased 2 long ones and 6 short ones.

    I bought 8 38mm eye bolts
2 where a good length for the stock seat rail
the other 4 stuck out to far towards the ground
the other 2 stuck out to far towards the driveshaft

used masking tape to make them all the same for a cut line
bench vice and a quality blade made it easy

cut down to a good size

ahh this so :hitler: drilling holes into car goes against my core but necessary

quick spay paint to keep it from rusting

lather up some silicone sealant to keep the water and rust out

    done

and a good picture of the inner lap belt plate
I could not find anyone with this plate documented on how they did i hope it helps.
the Center support bearing is completely in the way of where i wanted to install the eyebolt so its just barely behind it.

    CSB is right here

    All done
    just needs to be
    driver side

    passenger side

5th and 6th belt are annoiying to adjust. do it out of the car make them the same and ziptie the excess

A few of us are doing the speedventures autox on the 21st. You going?
The piece at the bottom of the cluster is an led shift light that I put specifically for autocross I would have a habit of riding 2nd gear to long bouncing off the revlimiter.=slow
Now the shift light blinks bright red screamin shift and that = faster lap times.
I made it so it's adjustable. You can set it to flash at any rpm that you set it too.

I'm loving the steering wheel really makes a big difference

The 21st is my 9 year anniversary with nicole. So you can count me out have fun out there. You should try disconnecting one end link on your rear sway bar. Passenger side is easiest since the exhaust is out of the way. Try it for one run and see if you like it.
