    hey guys,
    • I had my starter make a weird noise last sunday after starting the car as soon as you let go of the key from the crank position it would sound like the bendix gear was spinning on the shaft.
    • next morning it quit had to push start the car to get to work.:hitler:

what was weird was that the starter is only a year and one month old.
covered under bosch's 2 year unlimited mile warranty :devil:

    old vs new

I am subscribed to a track car build on bimmerforums.
He has built an awesome e36.
I also have liked his Facebook page and get updated on new products.
    shout out to Mkah Motorsport
On Monday they annouced a new product, Shifter extensions and delrin knobs.
They look like a quality product and gave the idea to make my own shifter extension to work with some of the components that I already have.

I have always liked the Akg stage 2 Dtm shifter.
So the goal was the get my setup to a similar height and feel to the akg product.

    I machined a 2 inch shifter extension.
It fits on to my Uuc evo 3 shift lever
then a 2 inch spacer followed by the jaffster shift knob.
Drove around with it last night and it's definitely a nice upgrade.
I plan on anodizing it black.

I Got a set of tire totes to keep the car clean when transporting wheels to driving events or the tire shop.

I read an old post on a spec e30 forum that the passenger side mirror is more convex compared to the driver side one so I acquired one from a parts car to try out. It fit perfectly no issues.

While strapped in the car with the cage it's pretty challenging to see cars around you so I'm trying a few tricks to increase visibility.
Other trick is stick wide angle mirrors.
    Old vs new

You can fit a small flat head screwdriver through this hole to remove and install the mirror.

Then you are left with this.

Extra Passenger mirror installed driver side.

Wide angle lens added to the driver and passenger side. If it's annoying I can just peel it off.

I went out for a canyon run early Sunday morning.
    Testing the harnesses and cage.
    Everything felt great

Yes! Definitely simon I just need schedule some lift time and will get it done and a new alignment
I was at 2390 with the Kosei wheels and sport seats
Now it's on the same wheels with recaro's and a cage.
Hopefully similar weight or lighter

John was very generous and allowed me to pick up the cage on the weekend since my schdule didn't allow any free time during the week.
If anyone is considering getting one made I would highly recommend having John make your roll cage.

I rented a Van from Home depot to pick up the cage.

I was really curious on the total weight of the cage

    pretty happy with 51lbs

my friend Hirad came over to help.
    • we covered the door with a moving blanket
    • covered the 1/4 panel with a magnetic fender cover.
    • the rockers with a towel
    • door jamb with tape
    • the cage with seran wrap

    its in.
time to mark and drill some holes

the driver side floor plate lands right where the fuel lines go.

    i had to remove these 2 studs/posts

all bolted together I rotated one of the bolts so the flat was parallel to the fuel line.

protected the hard lines from chaffing with some fuel tubing split down the middle

    woo hoo its done.

and now with the rear seat delete installed.
I'm going to cover the wheel wells with the same material as the seat delete.

I appreciate your concern. I had the bar designed to fit on the floor near the rockers.
