Thanks for the advice. Funny thing is that's just what I had in mind.

    The last autocross went great.
Had an issue where the dipstick came off.
I checked it out and noticed the Orings where missing.
BMW doesn't sell just the Orings and I didn't want to try to find the right size o ring at the hardware store. The thought of the o ring coming off and falling into the oil pan bugged me.
I purchased a new dipstick with o rings. And made a little chain spring holder as a backup.

We ended up having 5 e30's and 1 e30m3 at the autocross
The m3 ended up leaving early but we had 5 for a group shot at the end of the day.
Kaushik archarya on the right calypso 4 door caged running a 2.9 stroker m20
Matt Ibrahim next to him in his Swartz black 2 door e30 running an m62, 6 speed trans and a 5 lug conversion.
Followed by my white e30 in the middle.
Followed by a white e30 the owners name slipsy mind but he lives in irvine.
And a fellow r3vlimited member.(tinkerputzer) Jared in his Swartz black e30 running a 3.1 liter m20 using mega squirt engine management.

    Pretty fun day
Jared got first place in 6 mod
    Matt got 3rd place.

    New dipstick

Spring idea. It may not be necesary. But I figured I'd give it a try.

    weight of the wheels
    alpina wheel
    17x7
    45lbs with 215/45/17

    new kosei wheel
    15x7
    35lbs with a 225/50/15

that a difference of 10lbs per corner
40 lbs the engine does not have to spin
    40lbs reduction of unsprung weight.

    the new wheels should improve
    • feel in initial acceleration,
    • braking at lower speeds,
    • vehicle turn-in,
    • and steering feel in general.

I was replacing the brake booster check valve rubber hoses then the check valve decided to break.
So i replaced the valve, new hoses and I used hose clamps instead of the stupid one time use clamps.
I was able to re route the hoses to help prevent them from chaffing on the sparco strut bar like it was before.
