Here we go, for round two.

Better planning, and with a few new quotes. I am going to make them a little smaller to fit more. A nice heavy clear coat, and being garaged should help it last much much longer.

    My previous build (currently E30-less)

Hello, my name is Scout and I am a Shepherd/Husky mix, who was just adopted into a loving household. I really enjoy jumping into the backseat of this wonderful E30 while Mike tries to detail the interior.

It has been over a year since I detailed it. It definitely needed it.

95 M3 steering rack was just purchased to go along with a sleu of other steering and suspension components.

Big plans for the E30 this winter. The car is being ripped apart starting the first of October, before the snow starts coming down. By the end of February it will be a different beast.

Boring updates for now. Much more exciting updates in the months to come.

Glad this thing is around, I remember the day you posted the thread. Was great following this through the good times and the bad. The dog looks like a little stinker!

                  I had 2 E30 related deliveries today.

First I received these in the mail, direct from Fuzz Fabrics, who I definitely recommend to other forum members. Excellent customer service and there was even a nice thank you card included, thanking me for the purchase. Top notch if you ask me.

Its just another part that is added to the quickly increasing pile of parts for this winters massive E30 rebuild, which I am very eager to undertake!

The other E30 related news is slightly more interesting and worthwhile. Before I left for school this morning, this was delivered to my garage.

Some of you may say, "Hey I recognize that car!" and you would be correct. It is/was owned by a member of this forum. You might then ask "What is it doing in your garage, and why is this fact so interesting? Tons of E30s are in garages everyday. Dee dee dee."

I am sure that most of you will be able to infer what is coming next, with this one simple statement. This particular E30 is rusted to shit all over the front half of the car. But miraculously, there is none of the cancer that we all despise on the rear half.

I know, I know. Is it too much?

I am going 'matching my S52 E30' with this one. A 5 lugged trailer. On style 5's. As black and as rugged as the monstrosity that will be pulling it along currently is. It wont be heavily fabricated like the beauty that MR 325 put together. Just some simple square stock to hold its shape and add rigidity. But damn is it going to look cool.

Stay tuned for the pictures of the carnage!!

                            IMPOSSIBRU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the way home from University this afternoon, I heard an atrocious sound and I smelt a pretty heartbreaking stench. But as I was cruising down the freeway no lights came on and my beloved E30 was running just fine.

Coming off the freeway I start to hear a bad whining/screeching sound. I limp her home, keeping close eye on the cluster. Pull in front of the house and pop the hood.

My serpentine belt is half the size it should be, and the water pump pulley is offset, relative to all the others. I cut the belt free and grab a hold of hte water pump pulley and easily wiggle it all over the place. At least I found the culprit. The sad thing is that I literally just replaced the water pump about 16 months ago. I guess I bought a crap one. If anyone has a link to a respected water pump, please lemme know.

The bad news is, the E30 is going to be out of commission early, relative to when I wanted to put it down for the winter rebuild. I definitely wanted to get another month out of it before the snow fell, just because I enjoy DD'ing it so much.

But alas, I cannot continue driving it, and I wont take it all apart, replace the pump, just to drive it for a couple more weeks before I put her down for real.

So this is now the DD. Not quite as wallet friendly in the gasoline department, but it is a solid and reliable vehicle.

The trailer is still being deconstructed, albeit slowly. I have to get it cut apart so I can throw the real E30 in the garage.

                            Til next time!
