Threw a new main relay in the bronze bomber, no issues since Sunday.

Got the M20 mostly ready for the pull got the A/C system out, got the harness through the firewall, still gotta get the booster, and heater core out, and I have the exhaust all unbuttoned @the header and @the center but I can't get it to go low enough to come off of the bolts and slide out, there's a green aftermarket sway bar that I am definitely running into

So do most of you guys have to take the sway off? or is there some angle / trick I'm missing, or do you just pull the motor out while the down/mid pipe is chillen in there?

Just waiting on a p/u date for the s52/ZF

Okay got both heads off, schwarz had 3 broken rocker arms!

So, damaged 885 head FOR SALE

Good news is my other "good" head really is good, and won't need much cleaning before I lay it on there!

Also found out that the block birthday on the crashed car is 1992!

Pretty cool if someone buys the car as a whole, otherwise I'll stick it in the schwarz eventually

Keep the build going fine sir. Don't forget to change the cam seal. It will be super easy right now and will save you the headache of oil dripping down the front of your motor.

Have the head and top of the block as clean as I'm going to get it I think, all clean smooth metal, its a bitch trying not to get shit down the valves and shit, what do you guys do to protect your stuff while you scrape and scrub?

Waiting for a guy on here to get back to me about his sedan before I button it all up to the schwarz coupe tomorrow.

Got all new fluids and head bolts and a head gasket kit from Pelican Parts, gonna get new plugs and give the injectors a severe bathing in injector cleaner before reinstalling them.

Any tips for the installation process that the Haynes or Bentley might not have my back on?

Do the lower exhaust gaskets normally need some filing to fit? Mine won't slide up the threaded studs coming out of the bottom of each header, gets stuck no matter how evenly I try it.

My heater core was bypassed, that took me a while to figure out...I feel educated now, its really dope.

Thanks again for the help r3v

Have all the pulleys and belts to put on, the distributor cap, AC system, downpipe back to center pipe on both ends, thermostat and upper housing, radiator and hoses, fluids, spark plugs, draining the gas tank?, filling the gas tank back up?, start it up, check everything for everything, front bumpers/valence, headlights, changing wheels/tires withe the old bronzit, driving to the really close self wash and engine degrease the fuck out of the block and bay I neglected to just clean this whole time (idiot), hood fitting

Then later a bunch of vacuum hoses need replacing (in my gentleman broncos voice), "immediately" =X

                Just a short list

                  That shit started up!

I learned so much, I'm so stoked

I think the starter was seized, there was a pretty fine brown dust around the gear doufer of the bad one, also the solenoid was completely black and dull.

                  New one cranked excellently.

Next I need to hook the exhaust back up @ the down-pipe, however I need to know how to remove or loosen the front sway bar, because that shit is in the way, son.

just went ahead and did that shit, everything is hooked back up, got to the front valence and called it a night for dinner / thunderstorms

Tomorrow I'll finish the valence, bumpers, wheel well plastics, fog lights and reflectors, drop the hood and call it a car.

My shift knob came in from RobertK today too, imagine that :]

So I got the exhaust put together, one of the rings in the center part was trash, so I have a leak there...not real worried I'll be in a new motor or get it fixed sooner than later

Did the whole front end too, bumpers and valence and lights and horns all that ish

I started it again after adding the rest of the coolant, its idling @ about 600 and not very smoothly =\

                      it also smells like shit

I'm hoping vacuum, it just can't be the timing, and doesn't sound like a knock anyways, I'd go with the Haynes book's adjective, loping.

Not sure, maybe it just needs to be ran a little more since its been down for so long, get a full tank of gas, run some injector cleaner, run some fuel addative even though I siphoned most of the old gas out and stuck brand new premium on top

                      Here's hoping for the best

Fixed my master cylinder grommets, added lost brake fluid, filled coolant, filled with premium, added octane booster and fuel system cleaner,

                        DROVE THAT BITCH AROUND TOWN.

Got the Schwarz out on the highway took it to Santa Barbara and back, hit 80 like she was brand new, steering is great, handling is great actually has quite a few suspension modifications on it I'm pleased to say.

That brings me to the problem, a loud rubbing or scraping (scraping isn't the best term...because its not metal to metal) coming from the rear pass wheel well area while driving at any speed. Definitely speed based, faster = louder. It sounds like the tire rubbing the well almost? I just can't see any wear or where it is rubbing.

Wheel bearing make a sound like this? I thought they were more squeely, like when skateboard bearings go out, but much louder.

I'll have to drop the rear for some paint / cleaning / inspection asap.

Have to get my stereo working first, because that sound is loud as fuck

                                I'm beginning the sound troubleshooting.

Wurbble when stopped in neutral, goes away when clutch is depressed. (New Clutch?)

A soft, not quite clunk more of a, "turk" sound like an old diesel truck would make from under the center car, can't always hear it (New or balanced Driveshaft?)

Loud hard clunks over bumps, sharp short speed bumps or potholes or whatever that sound like there's an iron ball in my trunk. Backseat passengers say they feel it in their backs / butts (NFC)

Worst of all, there's a whirring sound, like a gigantic DC motor is powering the rear wheels @ the rear wheels, sound increases with speed, not RPM. Sounds like tire rubbing on something, but doesn't stop over bumps or when the suspension gets unloaded. Doesn't sound worse with the windows down (NFC)

I'll be going over the whole suspension back to front as funds permit, however if I can dial these guys in, they will get first dibbs.
