Much like me, you saved a car tantamount to scrap. I would say to paint that bish, but I respect your choices. I like that you've had to do all the shit I've had to do and then some to get it going and keep it on the road. I love my car so much since I've done what I have so far. Now that I'm almost done, I wanted inspiration. This pushes me forward where I was getting a little burnt out after missing my deadline for fixxfest.

I'll be looking forward to watching that!

Haha, yes. I have painted it before though:p But putting all this work into the car really does make me appreciate every second of owning/driving it. A friend was asking me the other day if I would ever sell it or scrap it and I told him i probably couldn't. I'm sure you feel similar;) I went to fixxfest but didn't get a chance to drive my car there. And I'm 90% sure I would've won the car limbo:hitler:

In other news....I landed the job at S&S:pimp:

A year ago today I was collecting turbo parts and my car wasn't even that rusty. I wonder where I'll be next year

In the meantime I'll be trying to fire up the welder this weekend and see if I can close up those trim holes on the c-pillar

This is a good idea, I think I'll follow suite before I finish the back side of my cage.

Here's a video of the 3" in action

Lately I've just been cleaning things up and fixing a few minor things. For example I de-rusted the turbo coolant lines

And the rust has really started to colorize nicely

Just read most of this build from the start. Great work!

Ever thought about putting the diving boards back on and rusting those to match?

I wish. Maybe euro bumpers in the future, but you can't rust diving boards

Just wondering if those coolant inlet lines are custom or if they came with the turbo?

They came factory on the Volvo I pulled I pulled the turbo off of. Had to make a few bends in them to get the hoses where I wanted.

Just read the whole thread. My god. I have a decent amount of rust, in the same area in the truck. Never really knew / cared to know about welding until now. Made a few calls to older brother's friends, found a guy with a huge garage, plasma cutter, and a MIG and TIG welder.. Now just to pick up some aluminum and make a new floorboard as well. I liked how you just cut out the rear end of another e30, I think I am going to tackle it the same way, rather than trying to weld in a corner. Anyways, awesome budget build.

HG popped less than a week ago. Parts should be here soon and I am dropping the head off at a machine shop tomorrow.

Bummer it wasn't just the hose!

Dood, get a better means of tuning. It will help so much.
