Nice. After talking about this so much, glad to see it under way. We can see who's quicker on the way up to the next Picnic.

        Never not loved your car.

I will be watching this for sure!

The e36 rack (mine's a 95 M3) was the best thing I've done to my car. I didn't use the AKG brackets in my rack swap, but I will put them in next time I work in that area. They are worth it in the end.

Kidding Josh, kidding. I'm looking forward to the progress on this one.

So do you need that kit before you can install an E36 rack in an E30?

Not an issue, all I need are specs. Anyone got them?

Your engine bay was a sample of perfection. Im sure the M50 is gonna look nice and tidy in yours. Congrats!

Got out the die grinder and a cutting wheel today, and started on the shaving.

Passenger side was first, removed every bracket and stud for the washer bottle, coil, expansion tank, and anything else I could find that wouldn't be needed:

Then the driver side, removed the brackets for the airbox/AFM and the relay box above it:

Isn't it the other way around.... less to do for the non airbag car vs. airbar car??

J - engine bay is looking better already., You going to cut the battery box tray out as well? And maybe relocate the fuel filter...nm your car has two pumps right?

Nah, the battery box tray will stay, it's a great place to put tools when you're working on stuff! :D

And yeah, my car has the dual pumps, so I think I probably have to keep that filter where it is.

Cool cool. I can't wait to cut my battery box thing out. What booster you going with, if you haven't found one yet, go with the e32/e34 dual chamber one, it's the same damn thing as the iX at the fraction of the cost

I'm thinking I might go with the E32 one, it sounds like it's a better option than the E21 booster.
