I cant even find anything on Duplicolors site about touch brite.
But anyway I think you've got a good ol' fashioned fry up going on.
It's definitely a clear over colour problem. Lacquer over enamel type thing.

And I cant think of anything usefull to ad sorry.

If you do end up stripping it yourself, this stuff is AWESOME:

I used it to strip all the orange paint off my wheels and it ended up taking all the orange off, the white base coat AND the black paint the wheels were originally done in. Took about 5 minutes for it to wrinkle to the point that the paint just washed off with the hose. I have some if you want to try it at least first.

^^ aircraft remover will not only give you cancer, it'll give your grandchildren cancer. I've never seen so many warnings on a can before. But in my logic, that means it works well. If it doesn't have a skull and bones on the bottle somewhere it isn't strong enough, right?

What's wrong with bedliner? I liked that idea.

I don't know why everyone is so against it, either. I've been Googling pics of it for the last hour, I think it looks good. Found a few pics of it painted, looked even better.

Here's one with another type that isn't so rough:

I'd definately scuff and primer everything in the same brand you're going to paint with. You can definately get to the majority of it without much issue beyond the biggest pain: Time.

What I think you ran into was bad interactions with the paint to paint surfaces and probably different brand primer. Just the fact that one can says what it is and the other is lacking says a lot.

I've got confidence in you, man. Just off your last bay. Take it nice, easy and definately stick with it. You can do it. And it'll turn out great.

So you would never have to worry about fucking up your fresh paint. If you did it exactly like this I would be freakin stoked.
But if you decide to do it all over and spray it black again. your best bet would be to sand everything down as smooth as you can. Then fix what needs to be fixed. When your happy with the way it looks. before spraying ANY color spray a sealer over the whole engine bay. Then spray color, then clear.
But Im all for the photo above. I love it.

I actually just tried some on the side of the passenger side frame rail, and it looks really, really good. There's not nearly as much texture as in the pic above, but there is a little bit, and it's got a nice semi-gloss look to it. I'm doing it for sure.

Sorry to the people that don't like it, but I do, and it's my car, bitches!

Wait. So now you like it? My phone isn't loading all the posts but from your first one, you seemed rather peeved (as anyone would be). I'm just trying to clarify it haha.

I like the picture that white325is quoted. It's different. And I like different.

So you're going to use bedliner for the engine bay, or keep spraying the clear coat to get a similar texture?

The texture you posted of your own car was from a clear coat freak accident, right?

Nonetheless, just keep on keepin' on, and it'll you'll be VERY pleased when you go for your first drive in it :) I know I was.

I'm going to use bedliner for the engine bay. The texture that I posted in the pics of my by was from the clear reacting with the paint. Not keeping that.

Ah good man. It'll be the first time I've seen a BMW engine bay lined with it!

You want to sand things down fairly far then primer over it for a good base. Etch primer anything bare metal though. Or else it'll peel.

You'll get it man. Don't take me too personally. My car is a pile of ass when it comes to paint.
