Yup, wax and grease remover us the best way to go. Then tack rag it while spraying air through the gun.

I would also suggest, use a good primer. Preferable k38 or k38 (high build). It's so worth it in the ling run. You don't want a failing primer. And the also spray much better the a cheap primer.

That lower corner behind the ABS module is a little wonky, but I don't really care, there's going to be an intake there, anyway.

It's looking good. I'm after reading your thread, I'm probably going to shave the engine bays of both my non-M e30s when I do the motor swaps.

Thanks, man. Hoping to maybe paint this week, and then I'm probably not posting anymore updates until I start getting the engine put back together in a couple of weeks.

I appreciate your help up to now, but this isn't a show car. I shaved the unnecessary brackets and studs to get a cleaner look, and I'm happy with where it is now. It's an engine bay, not the exterior of the car. People will only see it when the hood is up at the occasional show or if they're checking out under the hood when I am. That area will not be visible, and it looks good enough how it is. It's primered, and I am so completely over sanding and filling and dust and sanding and filling and dust and sanding and filling and dust that I want to punch babies.

My project thread is only 17 pages, and I put an S52, then an AA Supercharger on my E30, which then made around 350 rwhp.

This thread, and build better be good. I am not kidding, whatsoever. I want to see epicness. Or I will be sadly disappointed.

so what you're saying is, you don't want to come and do mine next? I have about 5 extra brackets that need to go away.

Got some small updates, ADD and boredom got the best of me last night, and I had to go paint the intake manifold.

Also finished removing all the rest of the wiring from the driver side, mainly the harnesses for the lights and the ABD module, they will all be run inside of the fender. Gotta clean this area, then the bay will be ready to paint.

Nice progress Josh :) What did you use to paint the plastic intake? Does anyone make a high heat plastic paint??

Just DupliColor gloss black. The intake manifold doesn't even really get that hot, no need for high-heat paint there.
