Same, that makes no sense to me. Spending more money on a part you don't need to spend it on is redonkulous.
And Luke, I'm so getting carbon fiber pedals. They'll be lighter, so that means less weight moving forward and back, so I can shift faster and step on the gas and brakes faster.
Yeah, but you should just get an S50 instead. They are faster...MUCH faster

Which means you're moving it over by at most, 3/4" of an inch. I can't imagine anyone noticing that.
unless you like to heel-toe downshift..
looks good josh. My engine bay is at the point where I really need to remove some of the uneccesary crap too - there's unused brackets and studs everywhere. But I don't think I'll be doing that with the M20.
Josh, this thread has been at the top of the 'Project Forum' since you started it, so this shit better be good! If it isnt perfect, you deserve a big R3v cock jammed right into your E30!

I also have big feet. I don't think it will matter too much.
To those that are clamoring for updates, I'll be getting the valve cover and oil filter housing cover back from sandblasting next week. After that, I'll be welding up the small holes in the engine bay left by spot welds, and getting the rest of the bay cleaned up.
Unfortunately, my area of Oregon is in the grip of a serious cold spell, and also right in the middle of winter, which means no painting for a while. But I will continue to work on the bay as well as the engine, and post updates when I can.

Same here, where i Live i got 9-14 inches of snow. To cold to go out and work on motor. Cant paint either...
Matt, it is warmer in Kalama than it is here, but I doubt that is true up where you live.
Josh, you are 1 day behind us in the freaking COLD spell. We are gonna hit 41 today, first time this week above freezing. We just don't have the 6500 foot elevation you have there, so hardly any snow.
It is "snowing" right now though. Means project weather is upon us once again, HOORAY!

It was -5 yesterday morning, and topped out at 14 yesterday. And about 50-60% of my job is spent outside, so suck it. It's supposed to be like 33 today, and almost 40 tomorrow.
I can go paint the VC and the oil filter cover at Andrew's, they have a shop that's usually pretty warm. I just can't do any painting in the bay.
