Haha thanks man. Your car is clean, but the kidneys need fresh paint :) looks liek you havn't been on in a while! I park in the BHS Juniors lot, one day you should park there next to me (Im a BHS Junior). They dont check for the passes, at all.
So on the car's note. I re bled the brakes Wednesday. Mlarsen (thanks gain man) and I kind of bled them wrong at his place, so I re did it with my neighbor. It worked out good, and the pedal is firmer now. BUT I am still not sure if it is as firm as it should be.
Also today I attempted to fix my sunroof leak, and found that my elephant drain was chocked full of dirt. Cleaned it up, popped it back in. Then I popped one of the covers out near the end of the hood (passenger side) and cleaned a bit in there. Went to thr trunk and found a huge ammount of water in the jack area. Pulled carpet, couldn't find the cause :hitler:
So I just sucked it all out and took the jack, etc. out to dry.
We will see if my passenger side floor is still wet after a good rain soon!
Well today is the hardest rain in a long time! We will see how the passenger footwell is tonight.
Also, I was going to wax my windshield, back window, and hood yesterday... but I got consumed washing the neighbor's car and shampooing her mats. Haha more money for E30 though :)
Pulled backseat all the way out today.. because racecar! No not really..
Because subwoofer. Im kind of copying Luke's 12 inch box, but adding my own design elements. Pics tomorrow.
Yesterday I got in the trunk and fiddled around taking measurements... and just getting an idea of what I am working with.
I have not yet decided on a LARGE 10 inch box (1.85 cubic feet air space with ports, etc.) or the same size 12. WINISD shows the 10 having better frequency, but that is it.
I think I am just overthinking it. Like always... so yeah I guess a 12. 12 has less port velocity at the same tune, hits lower, has higher SPL... all on the same wattage. Yup. Ports will be through rear speaker shelf/deck thing... which I will be re-upholstering :) I would love to make the original cardboard thing a mold for a new fiberglass one.. but once again overthinking it.
Amp I will be using is the Soundstream Reference 4.760. AKA 380 watts RMS to the sub on 2 channels bridged! So this thing will hit...
Nice Amp esp if there like the older ones, Old Soundstreams were awesome when I had one...
What does the rest of the system going to consist of? Front & Rear speakers, Are they going to be amped ? What are you using for a deck I know you were looking into the Pioneer that Luke recommended.

Okay QUIK... this is the plan. Now this is with a $500 budget.. and it is EASILY UPGRADABLE! (one of my design goals)
New Soundstream Reference 4.760 - $300 or so
Infinity 1260W - $55
Box Supplies - $25 (I have 2/3 sheet of MDF already :))
Pioneer Deh-6300ub deck - $130
Cheap-o 5.25" front co-axials (mine are shot, and I plan to do door pods eventually). These will be amped by other 2 channels of amplifier - $30
So that is... total $540... not too bad. I could do a a cheaper amp, like MBQuart 4 channel for $110... but they don't nor perform as good.
My template... you cannot see it, but on the other side is a metal yard stick duct taped horizontally and two thin pieces of wood vertically 6 inches in from each side.
Rear parcel, very easy to remove. To remove the seat belt hold things, I personally put a flat tip screw in the front, and then pried up. When up far enough, I put the shaft of my stubby phillips driver under to hold it up. Then on the OUTSIDE edge, I again inserted the flat head screwdriver and twisted it to raise it up... and off it comes
Sounds like a good budget setup, How about some used Premium Sound speakers for front and rear... Can probably be had for cheap I personally would of laughed at this idea until Luke was like dude seriously they are good. Mine sound amazing just with the head unit powering them and ive been into audio for probably 15 years now.

Well it appears some nut on CL in my town is selling 1/2" plywood sheets for $8. So I am buying one so I can build a mock box to make this thing damn near perfect fit... well as good as I can make it anyways. I need to practice with a table saw anyhow.
Still need to finalize where woofer will get mounted... and also if it is possible to port the rear speaker deck at stock speaker locations.
Picked up the upholstery fabric today... It is pretty cool IMO. Sort of thin... but I think I am upholstering the parcel first with a sheet, then with this fabric.
Ill def vouch for those guys, Sonic electronics is where I purchased my girlfriends radio which is the same as mine DEH6300UB awesome service.
As for those speakers nice and cheap on price never heard of the brand though.. Look into maybe some CDT Coaxials, I just bought a set of components and the reviews look amazing and there built in the USA/Europe
I havn't decided yet on coax's, honestly I could care less. SOme guy in the Car Audio section actually found a closeout on eBay of some pioneers for like $20 shipped... sounds good to me. lol

If it works for you go for it are these going to be for front or rear? Most of your sound come from your front stage def put better speakers up front if you plan on amping them. Those $20 speakers may not like what your Soundstream is going to feed them. For rear they would probably work perfect.
