Alright so I picked up a new rolling shell yesterday. Its a 1990 318is in Dswartz. Its in really good nick apart from the front end damage which is limtered to the bonnet, RHF guard, bumper and radiator support. The chassic rails have no damage so I will chop and change the radiator support around after the roll cage gets done. During the week I will put the interior out and give it a good clean. After that it's off to get the cage done. Also I got sent a few pics of the cylinder head porting. Pierz did a great job and I reacon it would flow at least 40% better. Everyone raves about how the S14 is a hand biult motor, but my question is 'why can't you line up the head and intake?'. There was probably a 2mm step from the throttle bodies to the rubber gasket and a further 2mm step to the head. It is all lined up now so it should flow much better. I will update again when the bottom end comes back from the machine shop. Below are pictures of the new car, my garage full of parts and the head work.

P plater aswell?? So much for not being aloud to drive a modified car! haha

Seriously nice engine and driving! I predict a lot more sideways action after the swap, cant wait to see it all together.

Small update! Dropped my head of to get a workover. It already has over sized valves and big springs but will get a better port job down closer to the valves. As I said before Pierz matched the head to the intake and cleaned up the exhaust so all thats needed is a little more work down lower and it should flow very nicely. Also the block came back from the shop after getting bored and honed to fit my CPs. It also got acid dipped. Block just needs to be painted and welsh plugs swapped then everything will be off to get balanced.

                            Update!
So I have been busy preparing the new car for a roll cage. I have changed the focus of this car a little bit and want it more of a street car as well as track whore. This means I will have to get a few mod plates and have a little more interior. The cage will go through the front firewall into the strut towers and well as through the rear firewall to the shock mounts. Also have to get a new rear wall fabricated as this car has a hole cut in it going to the boot. The mission on the weekend was to pull out the interior and get rid of the sound deadening. This wasn't any easier the second time around! I managed to pull out all the dash, carpet, heater box and sound deadening. All up probably around 50kg worth as 10kg of that was just in sound deadening. As far as I know the engine is still in the process of being built so no updates in that department. I will give the interior a good clean up this weekend as well as cutting all the useless studs off the floor and trans tunnel. Dad will sort out some of the wiring as it all just looks like spaghetti. Here are some pics of the progress!
                            Before!

                            After!

                            Where she sleeps

                            Sound deadening weight!
