Possibly the best part of this whole thread besides the fail drift pictures, is the pictures of the gutted interior but the sound deadening tar still where the back seats used to be haha. Full race ftw.

Exactly. We build these cars for our own purposes, not to make money off of them. Funfgan, good luck. I can't wait to see it running.

I mean this is coming from a guy who was and still is in the same position as Funfgan. I built my M50 bronzit being a poor ass 17 year old high schooler but I built it thinking in the future, I'm sure funfgan doesn't earn a lot of income like a lot of 17 year olds so seeing thousands of dollars that took you a WHILE to earn just go away is very disheartening. You might have "built" an E30 with a Ford engine in it, but at the end of the day, you're still a poor 17 year old that will never recoup his money..

I wouldn't be so against it if it was a clean shell, but it's the opposite of that.

Ford 302's are cool as fuck though.

I think a rough car with a Ford 5.0 in it will be pretty rad. Much cooler than another clapped out M50 swapped car. If it gets completed that is.

Maybe he doesn't want another car. Sure it is rough but, it is his car. Let him do what he wants and stop giving him shit for it.

Not trying to be a dick, but here are some questions to consider:
1: Ultimately, what are your goals for this car?
2: You realize you're choosing a terrible, totalled platform of an e30 that was worth $800 maybe with the M42 due to the complete lack of interior and mangled exterior?
3: You are now putting a Ford motor in a BMW, which on paper is awesome, but 99% of all BMW enthusiasts hate cross-breed swaps nevermind a Ford in a BMW? It reduces resale value DRAMATICALLY.


The point I'm trying to get at is, your car is a completely terrible platform to begin such an odyssey and in the end you will be out THOUSANDS of dollars, that is, if you ever get the car to run. You still have not considered driveshaft build, I'm willing to bet you have not read into the mathematics necessary to even make braking a dream on a swap like this, and other odds and ends..I mean you couldn't even tell your car had an open diff in it, and you took it to a slide event? The difference is very clear..

This is going to be a lot more expensive and time consuming then you think, and the final product will be..well.........
