That's what I use. A friend converted a flux to MIG. Works great! He leaves it at my parents in the shop so I use it all the time and just buy wire, etc. Opens up so many doors.

Shop I work at just got a nice TIG machine. Need to gather my aluminium shit up and get welding it. I learned on a TIG and it's by far my favorite.

        I can't friggin wait!!!!!!!

All I have to do is run my brake lines and I can actually drive it!!!

I really wanted to drive it anyway just up and down the alley and use the ebrake but there's too much gravel on the pavement so no beuno.

Driveshaft is in. Built my shifter and its in. Customized my throttle cable. Factory 95 540i coolant lines worked great.

        I can't wait!!!

Once it's rolling it's off for upholstery.

Don't mind the bubbly paint. The metal was still sorta warm.

Ran a bolt I cut in the middle to give me something to weld on

Since I don't have a tig, I drilled holes and bolted a steel support around the shifter. I then sheared off the bolt heads and welded them up for permanence.

Hot damn! That shit is centered!

        This made me laugh.

Then welded up the subframe supports. Put these on top to help the oil pan clear the steering rack.

        Till next time folks!

          Very nice man!

I can't wait to get time to work on mine more. Had to put the engine back in and push the car out to work on dad's 'vert and the GF's e28 over the weekend.

You're progress makes me so motivated to get going on mine again.

You just gotta find that curve. It sucks in the beginning especially when you're forced to move slowly with life all around you. Once you get the wheels powered then it all goes into overdrive. I'm so hyped to get this done. You have no idea.
Speaking of, I need to be online ordering the brake line kit.

              Just a quick update.
I've been nicking and knacking all around. Just picked up a new Chevy C6 z06 exhaust from the manifolds to the mufflers. Probably wont use the mufflers since they're huge. 2.5 all the way back. Not bad. I'll get picks later.

Also managed to pull up the vinyl of the rear top storage lid. Compound and polished the shit out of it. Looks great!

              I'll let the pics speak

Started to build a brace for the resivior a.

              End result

              Euro grills and headlights finished

Also took the battery cable from one of the coupes and remote mounted my battery. The weight that was in the rear was fuggin heavy. I suggest all vert owners remove it!

              Welded the ground

Removed the water holding sound deadening mats to prevent rust.

Went ahead and dyed my carpet. First I sprayed with the spray dye and then I got a bucket of boiling hot black rit dye and dumped it all over so it would soften the aerosol based dye and get the beige that was bleeding through. Looks and feels stellar

              Polished top storage lid

              Carpet in

After a quick open header test drive! Yay!

              LSD!!!!!!! (2nd gear shift btw)

Coming from personal experience, grab an E36 sedan battery cable. Seems to work better for verts and it fits the E34 harness perfetly. There's a little bit more rubber insulation where you need it so it won't rub through and result in a fiery death. :)

                How did you route yours?

Also you may be done with your vert sooner then mine. :(

E36 sedan only? I was going to cut some plastic or rubber tubing to go over the holes. Very paranoid about that lol. Those holes are very sharp.
I routed mine along the trans tunnel and though the rubber grommet of the e34 harness.

I still have a long way to go and it may end up on hold. Interior and then 5lug and this winter I plan on AC

Mine's going the way it would in normal e30s for the most part.

                      That's awesome.
I had trouble putting the seat in with it on that side so through the tunnel it went.

I see it doesn't have a thick ass nub on the end so it looks easier to run along side the rear wheel well. Were you able to get it through there or is it through the razor sharp holes?
