Well I completed the last rallycross event even though I made it to both days late. Nothing really changed on my car since I've been working on my other project cars lately... but there WILL be more to come soon. I am going to be doing a FULL suspension refresh. I have a subframe with all new bushings as well as new control arms and I will be ordering shocks for the car all around. Also have my hands on a set of corbeau reclining seats that will be quite nice for rallyx. Since you all probably prefer Josh's thread over mine, I will just post some pictures from the last event.
Got all the e30 guys together.
Josh calls me the grass king.
In the grass again.
Next to the VAC Motorsports s54 car at lunch.
Even though I came in last place since I got a DNF for the morning on Sunday, I still came home with a smile on my face, just like always. Hopefully I will get a little more competitive for next season. Nice and muddy the day after.
Also have some rally lights I am thinking about mounting, not sure which covers to go with though.
Cleaned out my garage to start the swap on my track car... had to get all the tires out of the way, so this is my way of moving them 100ft away so I didnt have to take 10 trips.

I'm not looking forward to you having fresh suspension. Currently that's my primary advantage over you until I get the new engine in.....Stage rally/rallycross e30 build/competition journal

btw, go with the covers on the bottom. More old-school. Plus I already have the top ones on mine :)Stage rally/rallycross e30 build/competition journal

Spent part of my day today cleaning the underside of the car. There is a lot of that west virginia red clay from Summit just stuck on the bottom. At the end of the season, I will be running it through one of those car washes that washes the bottom of your car. Also, on another note, since my exhaust hangs so low, I think from hitting it on the ground so much during the last event, the pipe just broke right before the muffler, so it got suddenly louder today. I check it out when I was under there and it was barely connected so I just ripped it off. Now it sounds like a honda civic with a broken exhaust. I will fix it when I rip the rear end out, but as of now, most of my attention is going towards my other car.

I really hope when you checked it out and ripped it out, you had some jackstands under there.....just that picture by itself makes me want to stand 10 feet away..Stage rally/rallycross e30 build/competition journal

Finally got the car back as my dad's truck was in the shop and he was borrowing it in the time being. Was able to clean the inside out since I never cleaned it out after last event.
Finally got my corbeaus in!
Then went to cars and coffee the following morning.
This week after work everyday I went to work on the rear subframe. The passenger side bearing was completely shot. The wheel actually had a little bit of extra camber since the bearing was that bad.... probably not the best thing to have been driving the car on. Subframe came out relatively easily with the exception of the brake lines giving me a hard time and having to cut the e-brake cables since they are stuck in the tubes. Also, it's been about 20 degrees out and almost a 5 degree windchill later in the afternoon lately when I have been working on the car. Good thing I have my portable heater and full body suit.
Exhaust and driveshaft out.... that red WV clay really got baked on there.
It really is not fun working underneath a rallycar. Especially one that was never fully washed after the whole season. Stuff is just constantly falling in your face. Everything unbolted and just having issues with getting it to come off the studs.
Finally go it out today. It was 14 degrees here at the time I pulled it in the garage on the big sheet of cardboard. Then started tearing it apart. I will be using the subframe that was in the car since it has poly bushings, but the trailing arms off the parts car I had awhile ago which has new bushings in it and good bearings. Started tearing apart the subframe apart and will finish it as I get more time after work.
Donor subframe.
