Holy fuck. This will be the most epic '02 in history with a mid engine S38. What is that transmission from?1990 325i Touring - The Bonsai Bimmer - Patiently Waiting
1984 316 Coupe - The Base Model - Pain in the Ass
1988 750iL - The Daily Driver
...And a couple others...Comment

Guys, I highly doubt it will be mid-engine. Im guessing the S38 will occupy all of the engine bay, and the transmission will be sitting in the back to help balance out that heavy ass S38 motor up front. I cant wait.Simon

I don't know, it depends on where you put the seats and pedals in the car. It's about 34" from the back of the door to the rear axle centerline and that S38 is prob about 30" long. The transaxle has the output flanges way towards the front so i bet it could be mid engine without too much trouble.... ;DComment

That's my guess as well, small set back of the engine, torque tube to the rear, and trans in the back. Seems like someone is trying to balance out a large power plant in a small package.
Here's a secondary thought. By putting the trans in the back, it opens up possibilities for a clean sheet design for a rear suspension with a traction optimized camber curve.Originally posted by payney8We heard economics is american for card game t/f ? :PComment
