Anyone remember me having really low compression , 90psi in all the cylinders
Well those of you saying its the rings , were correct I get my new rings in the mail tomorrow , heres some pics of the ring gap.
Last time I didn't remove any of the rings because I was scared of breaking them, so I never checked the gap.
So I borrowed a old worn out piston and I took a ring of that for reference

This is the ring gap of the oil ring to this piston

Here's a pic of my old ring gap , enjoy the laughs

All of the rings were pretty much identical in gaps
, so Goetze rings are being put on tomorrow , hopefully il have her built by Sunday or Monday .
        Some pics

        I resprayed the block

I reused the old washer from the old sheet metal style oil pump drive gear , because no one would sell me the washer on here call me crazy I think the washer will be fine I made sure to torque her down nicely.

        New coolant plug

Ported the intake to make it really smooth

        Smoother than it looks

I put the pistons in today , the end gap was 0.48mm

I checked to see if all my valves were sealing by pouring some gas on all them , none of them leaked Looks like the machine shop did there job right , I also just got a tooth brush and cleaned the combustion chamber with the gas , worked really well

            Gas cleans well

Was about to put the head on today, opened the brand new box of head bolts
And there was 13 out of 14 can a guy get a break

why do your cylinders have rings on top of them?

Looks a bit dry... Do not be skimpy on the engine building grease....

selector shaft seal is being replaced. i replaced the output shaft seal , i also am waiting for two new rod bolts since i decided to do the 70degree torque angle by eye , then has second thoughts and ordered two new bolts , and called a buddy with a degree torque wrench , hes gonna bring it over this weekend, DO IT ONCE AND DO IT RIGHT, theres no point in rushing a engine build , because your just gonna have to do it over again if you cut corners

Are you using any engine assembly lube? If the engine has problems starting and you have to turn it over a lot you will kill all of the bearings because it will not build oil pressure.. Just a FYI....
