uh, it *is* silver. :p
heheh, my kids always get excited about the "Slurpee Store". Is it bad that the owners know my kids by name and can tell which is the older one?

You car always looks silver in pics.
My kids also love the e30. The oldest will be driving next year and we will be doing a daddy/daughter project - her main requests are "I want it low and loud, dad - I also prefer red and it has to be a manual coupe." That's my girl!
One of the three little ones' and I favorite pass times is to take the e30 with the windows down, sun roof open, and go to 7-11 to get Slurpies :)Leave a comment:

Love these guys!
"daddy's car, daddy's car! I see daddy's car!"

seriously, every time they see another E30 they say "hey that looks like daddy's car". No love for mommy's car. Sorry Subaru, you're ugly, boring and slow. :p
no lame stretched tire look here

all excited to ride inside daddy's car..

also, it's been *11* years now.Leave a comment:

minor update: finally had a chance to switch out fuel injectors. I couldn't find the ones I actually wanted anywhere, and at one point I was sold m54 injectors labeled as something else. Ended up with a set of Bosch 0-280-155-931, basically brand new off Ebay, from a Camaro I think - 24.74# at 3 bars. 4 pintle design..

Going to sell the 42# for a song (they've got quite a few miles now, and there are better injectors for not much money). I bought them originally with thoughts of doing boost, but that was a long while ago and I'm going down a different path. the 24# better suit my motor, and I intend that they will go together as a package.
I gave it a nice Ferrari tune up after spending 5 minutes altering my req_fuel and priming pulse curve (wow, that was really easy!). Actually, I spent 5 more minutes realizing A) I forgot to plug in one of my coils, and B) injector #6 wasn't plugged in all the way, because it was running on 4 cylinders.. then I gave it the Ferrari tune up. Ran VEAL for a 15 minute trip down some country back roads and the fuel retune is basically done. :)
I'd also never taken a pic of my finished cam sensor setup:

well, they did a great job on the welding/fabrication. I haven't been able to plug John as much as I'd like to, but if you want coilovers for an ix I'd definitely recommend them for the fab work.
Shipping wasn't even that bad using my fedex account.
ix coilovers are really the same as any other E30 - but the struts are way shorter and you have to build your own sway bar mount. john came up with a pretty simple solution to that though.
I couldn't get them done locally, we lack any fab shops and even custom auto shops won't touch something like this. Last time I had a buddy do it at school, but that was eons ago and I don't have that access any longer.
I still need to sort out my struts/shocks - I think Bilstein made them too stiff for what I wanted. Going to live with it for now. At least the handling and grip is unbelievable. :)Leave a comment:
