I have known that the BAR stuff was going to be a pain, but this kind of stuff is worth it in the long run.

I was planning on going to NorCal to watch the Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca.... we'll see. I have a feeling that auto x will be packed with people

      To each their own :D

Laguna seca sounds like a blast. LMK if you end up not going. The autox actually doesn't look too packed so far just looking at the current attendee list

are you looking at the SCCA day or the practice the day before? I prefer the practice days since Im not competing in anything and you get way more runs (8-12 usually) compared with 4

I might sign up. Picked up the car today. M50 manifolds are installed and the charcoal canister is all plumbed in.

Seriously, Im a BIG fan of JMP Auto. Talked to him about some of the plans I have for down the road stuff and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Only thing left to do is finish wiring up the Check Engine Light and hopefully it wont be on so I can go BAR my car

For now, Im going to go out and drive by car

Went on a SoCal Vintage cruise this morning with a bunch of 02s and a herd of Alpine E30s  Heres a few of the pics I grabbed at our stop. You might recognize Alex's car (iwantspeed)

God that looks like loads of fun. Wise of you to know when to throw in the towel. Sometimes it's just not worth your time, especially when you start to get frustrated, I tend to break things when that happens.

                    What's in the blue 2002??

We drove Angeles forest highway and then into little tujunga IIRC but I pulled out early (I always pull out early ).

Yea it was especially frustrating because I had a bad feeling and then I screwed myself. But it's all good now. I'm basically at the point that I can make my appt with the BAR.

For those curious, the way they got that last nut out was by supporting the motor, pulling the passenger side engine arm and then they had more room to rotate and actually get it out. I'm happy

Paolo check out the pics that Alex (iwantspeed) posted. There's a bunch of good pics there.

As far as this car goes, I've always wondered what the history was because there's zero VIN tags on the car, and the one that is there is from my buddy Corey's old iX. So, because of that I've decided to keep looking for mint alpine fenders and I think I'm finally getting them soon...

Just sold my old MOMO steering wheel and hub and sold a few other car parts and that means more play money aka car money. So excited to have more clean parts... Hopefully I'll have a few solid updates later this week

Coreys' iX - the thought of it kinda chokes me up a bit. I loved that car.

I checked out his pics, that M20 02 is pretty sick!!! Loving the front cowl area around the radiator, seems well done! Sounds like he could drive too! Curious if you know what diff he was running and trans?

Where are the new fenders coming from? Looking good! :D

That cruise looked like very much fun. Can't wait to top off my new 2.7i, it'd make it a proper stampede of alpine e30s!

Paolo, Im not sure what trans he is running, I know I will see him at the end of this month at the SoCal Vintage show, I will ask him then.

Fenders are coming off a rear ended alpine ES. Original paint and no dents! Im a happy camper, just need to drive out, get em and swap em on. Goal is for the same SoCal Vintage show. clocks ticking!....

The drives are so much fun! Its what these cars are built to do, theres usually a few cars that have issues, its nice to not be one of them!

In other news, I finally bought a new headunit. Pioneer X8600BH. Got bluetooth in my car now! I dont plan on chatting much in my car, but its nice knowing I can have both hands free.

In other, other, news I havent washed my car and its finally dirty. I tried using the drought excuse to postpone it, but its really bad now haha

Hopefully the next pics will be with new fenders, polished paint and a big happy face. The urge for the 911 has subsided for now :)
