    2002 + s2000 = S2002 build

    My plans are
    remove rust
    strip to bare metal

    on to pics
first got her in the drive way

i removed the bumper and air dam. going to start striping the front, and so far i got to order my welder any suggestions? Remember im on a budget lol

good news the rear strut tower has no rust! but lots of surface rust underneath :(

    and the striping starts...........

Ill be watching this... a lot has happened preventing me from working on my 2002, but I'm hoping soon to at least build the motor. I have most of the parts to build the long block. It'll be a 3.1L M20, currently thinking with side draft carbs and a distributor from a 323i.

Cant wait to see what you come up with.

You know a M30 bolts right up to your M10 gearbox, right?

Subscribbled! As far as I know, the m20 wouldn't require any major firewall modification, but the M50 would?

I have a spare M30 and an 02 does this motor fit without major mods?

Did a little research sounds like major surgery and nose heavy after....M20 in an 02 seems a better route.

An M20 is really long in the bay already, to use an M30 it would require tons of modification to the firewall. M20 all the way.

                          PS
M50 will be a lot of work ad very heavy for the car.
