Ordering mounts today! We have everything for the Mustang now in house. Full tube subframe, tube control arms with coilover suspension. It is going to be pretty nasty.
My business partner goes on vacation on the 6th, so as long as I have everything for my car, I am shutting down the shop for the week in order to work on both. Soon.
Ford 5.0 swap into a Bronzit. Update: Now running, VIDEO ADDED.

Here is how it sits currently. I have it in the empty bay next to my lift, so I wrench on it in my down time.
Currently have the driveshaft pulled, radiator, condenser, oil cooler, wiring harness out. The engine/trans are literally just resting in it until I get a chance to yank it out. Then I'm going to give the bay a good cleaning and paint before the new motor goes in.

Here is the moneyshot. Waiting for our customer to bring in his swap parts so that I can yank it out, and drop right into mine, and the lsx into his. That way I won't have another motor taking up floorspace in my shop, and I can still drive his in and out each day. It is a convertible with a brand new top that I don't feel like getting cut on my watch.

I love those wheels, but I am biased. Same color too. I joke and say I don't care if I have to replace bent wheels, as the tires were more expensive than the wheel!
Lookin good. Beat down that rust, Im looking forward to seeing this come along.Leave a comment:

I haven't had a lot of time to work on my personal car or update this. Still, things have changed. As it sits currently the head is off the car, and I was putting together an M20 to drop in. (When I typed this I was thinking of the donor head being off of another motor)
I now have a 5.0 complete with original cobra intakes, 60's windsor 351 heads (smaller combustion chamber, GT40 size valves), 1.7 SVO roller rockers, e303 cam, shorty headers (perfect), and T5 trans.
We got a new customer who wanted to swap an ls1 into his car. So, I offered him a deal on the swap in exchange for his drivetrain plus anything else I need.
Going to swap the car in and see how I like it... I still have all of the turbo parts. ;) The M20 I'm currently building will be put away for the right time.
Also just bartered a gauge install for what's below. They are expired, but will serve fine for Autocross.

So I am now looking for a roll bar as well. I'll post up some more photo's when I'm back in the shop tomorrow.Last edited by Exodus_2pt0; 02-14-2013, 06:01 PM.Leave a comment:

Just got this into the mail the other day...

Got my station all set up.

Mixed in too many hours and a little bit of magic, combined with prayer and 1 hair off the tail of a dog, and I somehow ended up with this.

All set up for wasted spark, now to put the motor together. I'll post some pictures of all my other hardware in a few days.Leave a comment:

TRM C1 15x8. They are perfect, no spacers needed. I am running 225/45r15 which requires a some rolling.
Plus they can be had for $100 a piece from tirerack, and they are very light.Leave a comment:

What kind of wheels are they? Also, are you running spacers? They look like perfect fitment for an e30.Leave a comment:

Ford 5.0 swap into a Bronzit. Update: Now running, VIDEO ADDED.
So I recently traded CreamE30 a running sedan for his non-running coupe. See thread here: http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=274407
Now:
Current pictures as she sits now.

There are 2 rust spots, the battery tray and on the drivers side.

The passenger front fender also needs to be either straightened, or replaced.

Other than that, this car is a prime candidate for what I want to do.
I am going to repair the rust spots while I build the engine, and hopefully have a fresh coat of Bronzit paint going on in time for spring.
Stay tuned!

UPS man has delivered!

Engine mounted in there. A little pissed that I cut off the heater core fittings, but I wanted to make sure I only had to drop it in once. First try.

Changed the valve cover gaskets, figured I'd snap a photo of what we're working with.

Anyone have any suggestions for a shift boot? Stock is out of the question, this is after notching the shifter.
